This place early in the mornings is amazing!
When we go back to our home in Changsha from Melbourne, my wife goes here at 6am every morning for Tai Chi .
The grounds are huge and very well kept! well done to the gorundsmen and gorundswomen.
The (I call it a small museum) is definitely worth looking at!
The trees and shrubs are beautiful. I like it in the autumn and winter then spring. the colours sre fabulous!
There is a young lady who takes your photo's if you like with the monument behind you. Worth having taken if it is nice and clear.
The ice creams are expensive but delicious!
Tai Chi seems to go on early in the mornings with so many people attending. it is great to see it and the music is really good.
I usually take a book, flask and sit there reading and watching.

Ah! Peace and Quiet!

Spent an hour or so enjoying this public park, now free as are most of the city's attractions. The central monument was under renovation and unavailable in 8/09, but there was plenty of other things to do. We strolled the paths down to the large man-made lake in the center and took a boat ride. (You can choose between the small, slower poled boats, short or long ride, or a larger powered craft which circled the lake in about twenty minutes, which we chose.) Then we walked back up, past fishing ponds and zoological exhibits and through the carnival. Although we chose not to ride any rides or play games, it was thrilling to watch the bungee ride in which a two-person capsule is catapulted skyward by an attached huge rubber band. There is lots of green space here and plenty to do for a low-key, pleasant family or individual outing.
