A luxurious and grand hotel. A wide selection for buffet breakfast and the in house restaurant is very good too. I loved the massage places behind and opposite the hotel

The service is very good and always eager to help. The rooms are nicely decorated and this is also a popular hotel for functions/weddings/birthdays so you always get a good fun atmosphere

Tip:
#1 If you don't speak any Chinese, I believe that Sheraton Changsha would be a better choice for you, as the clientèle here is predominantly Chinese or Overseas chinese.
#2: The restaurant behind the hotel is also very good!

We were only in Changsha for one night (September 2011) on our way back from Zhangjiajie so we didn't venture out far. We were hoping there would be something in the hotel to do. The pool was ok, although we had to buy caps to wear!? and the life guard patrolled like a dictator. The bar was nice but the lady playing piano stopped as we arrived at 9pm :-(

On check out the reception staff were of a very high standard, respectul and professional and the doorman had a strong word with our taxi driver to make sure we got to the airport quickly and without being ripped off, which is always nice :-)

This hotel was top class and made my trip to Changsha much more relaxing. The quality of the hotel, rooms and service was just fantastic. If you are staying in Changsha, this is the hotel, total luxury. The room service was also spot on! Swimming pool and sauna found to be very clean and just great to relax in after a day visiting our suppliers. 5 Stars it certainly is.

We stayed on the Executive floor, which had fantastic service, but the rooms were slightly smaller than you'd imagine, and the food was nice but had very Chinese characteristics (fake juice for breakfast, chicken nuggets as one of the Western options for breakfast).

Can't fault the service (although the English levels weren't good enough for an international hotel), and the location is not close to anything (Tai Ping Jie, train station both 15 mins away).

A word of warning- taxis are IMPOSSIBLE to get. We waited 45 mins to get one!

The Wyndham lives up to its five star rating. The room was luxurious -- well-appointed and smoke-free -- every bit as luxurious as a room in a five star hotel in a major U.S. city. The lobby is majestic. The service was also top-notch. The breakfast buffet was one of the best that I saw in China, particularly the noodle soup bar. It's not inexpensive but you get what you pay for, I guess.

The hotel is not that close to anything. It's a 15 minute cab ride to the museums or the train station and a 15 minute walk to the main pedestrian area. On the other hand, it's far away from the hubbub and thus pretty quiet at night.
