“Great stay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 5, 2013

We like the fact that the property was not on I-95. It was a beautiful property. The front desk staff was very professional. All public areas were very clean. The room were clean and showed little signs of wear. The beds were comfortable and the water was hot. The WiFi worked well. The breakfast was very good but the breakfast seating area was right near the lobby doors so blasts of cold air came across some of the tables as people were trying to eat. They do have two sets of automatic door but the both open and stay open for a while. If they were manual it would reduce the cold air flow into the breakfast room. We would stay there again but be a little more careful in the breakfast seating area. The breakfast was very good

Room Tip: When eating breakfast try to sit as far away from the lobby doors as possible

I've been in way worse. The rooms were decent, but definitely older and need upgrading. Beds were average. Some rooms have microwave and fridge, some don't. You have to ask. Some of the doors don't shut all the way. But I am traveling with 2 dogs and they waived the fee for me which was GREAT! It's also walking distance from pet, food, and clothes. Also far enough away from the Hwy so it's pretty quiet.

Rooms are very average and TV did not work but worst of all was the aggressive desk manager who abused me when I complained that my clothes had been wet for two hours because the hotel janitor was using the guest dryer for his personal use.

To access the main lobby after hours, you must use the front entrance. So walk around the entire building. Bed is creaky, master key locks on doors are missing/broken. The service desk is clearly just trying to do their best in a place they know that sucks. In all my travels, I've only been to one other hotel that sucked as much. Oh yeah, the tv only gets 22 stations! WTF!

Room Tip: rooms in a better hotel may be safer.

We chose Quality Inn because we were traveling with two dogs which they accept for a nominal fee. (The location is not immediately off the highway 95). The rooms are dated and worn with tears and stains. The breakfast area was poorly stocked with limited choices unless carbs are what you crave. Though there was an attendant, he did little to keep food items stocked or the area clean. Unfortunately we left a few items behind and they were not reported to the front desk. We are continuing to follow up but not optimistic that we will find satisfaction.

Don't even think about staying here....what a dump! The curtains were disgusting, the carpet filthy, the sheets had some holes, I actually can't think of one good thing to say about it....but I do have to say, find another place to stay....it was horrible ! It probably hasn't been refurbished in decades...maybe the 60's???? And has been cleaned much in that time either.....if we hadn't been so exhausted we wouldn't have stayed.....Keep looking for somewhere else to stay.

On a trip from Florida to the Outer Banks of NC we decided to spend a night on the road. Hungry and tired, we made it to Rocky Mount, and went online to find a hotel or motel. The Quality Inn seemed OK, at least from the outside, but the room was like a 1950s roadside motel. Good enough, but next time we'll raise our standards. Rate was $67.
