As a local, I eat here weekly....or more! Prices are decent, food is generally great. Service is really good during the week, but Saturdays are super-busy and the service is usually a lot slower. They're open for breakfast and lunch Monday-Saturday, and you're sure to find something you like at each meal. Breakfast can mean biscuits, breakfast sandwiches, or a full plated breakfast. I recommend the cheese biscuits no matter which route you go! Lunch staples such as burgers, fries, chicken salad, and sandwiches are available every day, but the hot bar changes daily. You might find fried chicken, barbecue, pork chops, or beef stew...or many other tasty treats! Friday is seafood day, and the fried shrimp is really good!

Smith's is just a little ways off I-95 so whether you're just passing through or are here for the world-famous sausage next door at the Red & White, you're sure to find a great meal, friendly service, and a pleasant experience!

Small restaurant next to the grocery store. You can order from the menu or check out the buffet. The prices are really inexpensive. The chicken and dumplings are awesome. There are lots of vegetables and different kinds of meats to choose from. I also saw homemade cakes but I didn't try them. Just a simple little restaurant, not fancy at all. The food is really good. I will definitely be going back. Also the Smith's grocery store has a lot of homemade pies, cakes, cookies. Old time candy area too. Check it out.

Smith's is a tiny cafeteria-style restaurant tucked into a super small strip mall about five miles out of town. They offer some of the best home cooking in Eastern NC. I guess they don't advertise because the locals pile in every day. This same family operates a grocery store and meat market next door that's the cleanest I've ever seen. For travelers, Smith's is less than a mile from I-95 at the village of Dortches, NC. The store is already well known, with many out of state license plates in the parking lot. It's not fancy, but simply the best food around.
