We enjoyed staying at the Blue Boar Inn so much for fall foliage last year that we decided to return this spring for the rhododendron bloom. And this time, instead of 8 nights we stayed for 13! What we experienced once again is a scenically beautiful area that invites continuing exploration. And there is no better place than the Blue Boar to use as a base and daily retreat.

We rented the Trilliam Cottage that has all the comforts of home plus a dynamite porch overlooking Santeetlah Lake and the mountains beyond. The grounds of the inn are full of trees, a pond and lots of flowers all of which invite relaxation. The Blue Boar Inn is reached via a gravel forest service road that closely follows the contours of the lake. They have kayaks that can be used to enjoy the lake as well as delicious and beautifully presented gourmet breakfasts and dinners. It’s a friendly warm place and we highly recommend it!

The Inn Keeper and staff at the Blue Boar Inn go out of their way to ensure that your stay is a wonderful experience. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and beautiful; the food is to die for; the grounds are gorgeously maintained; the lake is spectacular. I can't wait to come back!

My wife just returned from a four night stay at the BBI. What a wonderful bee and breakfast. The service was outstanding. The staff can be as helpful and pampering as you wish or will let you do your own thing. The food is delicious with breakfast served every morning and dinner (extra charge but well worth it) served on selected evenings. There are many activities to choose from running the gamut from hiking, boating, fishing, golfing at nearby courses to simply doing nothing but relaxing. Motorcycles are welcome if you plan on tackling the Dragon or the many various mountain roads.

We just returned from the Blue Boar Inn and it was wonderful. My husband and I loved our room #8. Everyone that works at the inn was so accommodating and friendly. We loved going down to the lake and using their kayaks and canoes...we also took out boat. Each morning we ate the wonderful breakfast that is included with the stay and it was more than I could eat…delicious! There is so much to see and do in the area. My husband and I enjoyed driving along the Cherohala Skyway and visiting the Joyce Kilmer Memorial Forest. At night they offer a fabulous dinner menu and it is so tasty, well worth the price. After dinner Chris builds a fire in the fire pit next to the view of the trout pond and guest can sit and enjoy the peacefulness of the mountains and a visit from Daisy the bloodhound…I loved Daisy and we loved out trip to this fabulous little Inn in the mountains. On a scale of 1-10 I give it a 20.
