Description: Established in 2013. The Hub of WNC was created as a supplement business to Sportbikes4hire which is a 4 year old motorcycle rental company that covers a territory between Asheville, NC and Knoxville, TN. Robbinsville, NC is a major cross roads, or "Hub" if you will, of several very popular and world famous mountain roads frequented by car and motorcycle enthusiasts. We thought a 1950s service station themed coffee and sandwich shop would be the perfect atmosphere for the road weary Dragon slayer or the adventurous couple on their H-D that just crossed up on over 5000 feet on the Cherohala Skyway or Blue Ridge Parkway. With plenty of covered bike parking and a large outdoor covered eating area over looking the river, its a perfect spot to kick of your ride with fresh locally roasted coffee or to take a break from the road for some BBQ or a hot pressed sandwich. Come get your grub at The Hub!

“Charming & Delicious”

This is really worth finding. Its a brand new restaurant, a refurbished old gas station with a charming style. I was shocked by how good the food was, each of us thought we had out-ordered the other until we decided to share. I have to go back so I can try all of the other options! Both the food and staff are superb. Great barbeque in this charmingly restored filling station, you have to try it out!!

“Great little restaurant.”

Some friends and myself stopped in for lunch while in the area riding motorcycles. The menu was a little limited but the service and food was great. We definitely recommend it to anyone. The BBQ sandwich was great.

With all other dining options in Robbinsville considered, this place is a no-brainer! Great food, service, and atmosphere. You won't get this anywhere else in town.

“Great food and service”

The HUB is a great treasure for Robbinsville. The Pulled Pork Plate is excellent and very tender. I really liked the "house made" spicy vinegar sause. Greg and his crew make it a very frendly place to stop and have a sandwich and your favorite beverage.

“Not Great... Not Bad...”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 15, 2014

Stopped in with a family member to try this place for the first time. I found the lunch menu to be unusual. I, for one, am not a fan of fruit flavored meats so I steered myself to something I felt more comfortable with: the pulled pork sandwich with the "house made" BBQ sauce.

The pork was tender and flavorful but the house made sauce was watery and lacking in flavor. It surely wasn't Western Carolina BBQ sauce. The sandwich was served with a dill pickle spear and a small serving of coleslaw. The slaw had too much vinegar and too little mayo leaving a bad taste in my mouth. Chips are an add on for $1.29 and only kettle cooked chips are offered.

My family member's meal was adequate for them as they were able to substitute the bread on their sandwich.

I enjoyed the ambiance in the converted old gas station which I remember as a child when visiting my grand mother and aunts and uncles in Robbinsville. The service was fast and the staff was very friendly and helpful.

I may visit again if they added a hamburger option to the menu and zinged up their BBQ sauce a bit.
