It just doesn't get much better than this! The entire staff from the general manager to the young lady who helps clean the rooms are delightful, every minute of every day.....Nothing but smiles and graciousness. The views of the Cheoah River, the mountains, and the grounds add to the "Eden-like" setting. The rooms, both public and private are delightful. The linens are scrumptious and the food is 5-star. If you are looking for a super relaxing and luxurious stay, this is the place to go. A special thanks to Ronnie & Terry Hedrick for restoring a wonderful place from my childhood!

We saw an ad for Tapoco on UNC-TV and thought we'd give this a try for a weekend get away. This visit was fantastic from the moment we arrived. Beck and Karen were wonderful hosts. They knew us by first names, very attentive to anything we might want, very informative. I don't know how they had the energy to do all they do but they always had a smile for everyone. The food was superb, Alex did a fabulous job with his menu choices, 5 star in my book and breakfast in the mornings at the chef's table was such a treat. We even got "smores" as a special treat after dinner if you could find room for them. The outdoor fit pit was great. If you ever want a nice place to stay and be pampered, this is it!!. Thanks again to Karen and Becky for all you did!!

Gorgeous. The hosts, Becky and Karen, absolutely could not have done more to make us comfortable and welcome. The food was just divine. My trout at dinner was a delicacy--so were the other 4 courses! It rained the morning we were leaving, and we had breakfast at the chef's table. Great breakfast, spotless kitchen. Delightful full bar, and Karen was a terrific tender. We are going back again. They had our names memorized before we arrived. Just treated us like we were royalty. Beautiful spot. I'm going to write them a thank you note! Great bed, nice linens too! The "little things" made the difference between just being in a beautiful spot and enjoying every single second. Thank you so much, Tapoco People!

Room Tip: Becky listened to what we needed, and she gave us Hillside #1. Private, great covered porch, rustic...

Just returned from a wonderful 27th anniversary trip to the Topoco Lodge. Don't even know where to begin. The owners of this establishment have picked the most wonderful employees, and I feel like they need mentioned by name. Becky and Karen were the most pleasant and attentive guest services employees (they do a little bit of everything) we have ever met. The chefs Will (morning) and Alex (evening) were top notch. We had the most fabulous meals we have ever eaten in a long time. As a matter of fact, we were planning on only staying one night, but our dinner the first night put the icing on the cake and we asked if there was availability to stay another night. When we woke up to the most fantastic breakfast the next morning we knew we made the right decision not to move on to another B&B. Besides the food, the bed was GREAT, the surroundings in the mountains and setting of the grounds were beautiful. We are already talking about our next visit. Thank you Tapoco Lodge for helping make our anniversary weekend perfect.

My wife and I stayed two nights over the Memorial Day weekend. It was absolutely fantastic! From the moment we arrived we felt as if we were royalty! It is amazing that such a place exists where you can feel like a million bucks and not have to pay a lot to do it! Becky and Karen are great!

We will be returning in the fall! This will be one of our go to places from now on, at least while we still live in North Carolina. Part of the charm for me was being so close to nature and real whitewater that ran right next to our room! The Hemlock Room is a gem. If you are looking for the best getaway you will ever experience, this is it!

Room Tip: Hemlock Room, riverfront view!

This was our first visit to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary and what a wonderful experience it was. The staff greeted us upon arrival and right away made us feel special and like we were the only guests. Becky and Karen truly love what they do and take great pride in making sure the guests are taken care of. The owner Ronnie has preserved a piece of history to perfection. Chef Alex cooked amazing meals and provided a special surprise for our desert to celebrate our anniversary. We enjoyed eating breakfast in the Slick Rock grille. We stayed in the cabin Cheoah 3 it was quiet with a private porch to relax on. Each night we sat by the bon fire and enjoyed the smores kits. You only live once and should not go without staying at Tapoco. We are already making reservations to return n August.

Room Tip: The Cheoah cabins are quiet have a private porch and close enough to walk to main building

From the moment we rolled in until our reluctant retreat, Ronnie and Becky and all of the staff made us feel so special! Everything was outstanding: the service, the room, the FOOD, the facilities, the landscaping, the ambience, oh - and did I mention the food? Every person on the staff went above and beyond to make our experience positive, and Becky and Ronnie both made a personal effort to make sure we were comfortable. They even knew us by name within a day! The bartender was engaging and adorable. The chef whipped up such delectable five-star meals that we're still raving about them to anyone who will listen! Everything was so wonderful, we really didn't want to leave; in fact, we booked our same cabin for next year the night before we checked out! Bottom line: GO. It is gorgeous and relaxing and indulgent.
