Love the cakes and the team work very hard to ensure you are looked after. I am a regular and have coffee and afternoon cake, and the selection or portion size never disappoint. Had lunch on several occasions and like the jacket spuds. Keep it up.

We discovered this place when looking for a house in the area. We've now been several times and no matter when we turn up there's always a constant stream of people 'dripping' through the door. Always a good sign.

Cakes are always superb - and freshly baked. Yesterday's had been out of the oven literally half an hour and was still slightly warm. We were told that 10 whole cakes had been demolished yesterday alone - no mean fete for an out-of-city location!

Service is always up-beat and friendly - particularly by the owner, who is always very keen to give information about his enterprise - and rightly so. He's clearly very proud of what he's achieved and is always enthusiastic and attentive. He constantly flits between service counter and tables, always checking as he goes, that his customers are happy and satisfied. It can be a little slow at times - but worth the wait - so if you're in a hurry and they're busy I'd suggest changing your plans and popping in later.

The only let-down really are the toilets. A bit dark and gloomy - and several times we've encountered a wet floor and no toilet paper. This is a real shame as this is so often your last impression of a place.

We haven't found a house yet but this place is one of the many reasons that we're still searching in the area!

We visited after an Easter Egg hunt at Basildon Park and after finding their cafe packed we went on a search and found this little gem 'Little Henry'. We ordered baked potatoes and a baguette. I am a baked potato fusspot and am always a little wary of how they will turn out. These have been properly cooked to perfection. Tea was lush and the chocolate crispie cake was huge and a big hit with the 3 chocolate eaters in the family (plenty to share) and a perfectly made flapjack too! Service was a little fraught, 'there's only two of us, you'll have to wait' but warmed. Could've done with a little background music but seating was comfy. Value was excellent: 3 large potatoes, 1 baguette, 2 pots of tea, a bag of crisps, a flapjack and chocolate crispie (both huge and freshly made) came to £23 which we thought was excellent value. Will definitely make our way there again even though we aren't local!

Went here on a Saturday lunchtime with a friend in summer. Tables and floor were crumby/dirty and staff seemed on another planet- I had to ask to pay, whereas my friend paid on ordering. Cake was also a bit dry.

This is a great little cafe serving a fab cooked breakfast at a very reasonable price. The staff were so friendly and accommodating (my children are picky eaters) and the atmosphere is very cosy. Will definitely go back when we are next in the area.
