I don't know if the old one was torn down, or just went through a major renovation, but this is a brand new hotel now. I stayed in a king room with walk-in shower. If you need a tub, you need to make sure one is offered. The shower was great, but has a fixed panel next to the controls, and a hinged door on the other end. Unless you have very long arms, or get in and move the showerhead toward the wall, you're going to get a blast of cold water first. The bathroom vanity does not extend wall to wall like most vanities, and is open underneath, more like a table with a sink in the middle than a bathroom vanity. The coffee maker and ice bucket were on the vanity; if you're one person then no problem, but if there are two or more people, you're going to have to store your toiletries underneath or move the coffee maker.
Fitness room was good size: 3 treadmills, 2 ellipticals, 1 stepper, 1 bike, two adjustable benches, dumbells from 5-50 lbs, weighted balls, sit-up balls, water and towels. My only complaint was lobby music was piped in, which made it difficult to hear either the TVs or your own music.
The pool was really nice. They have a chair device to lower disabled people into the pool. Both ends were shallow entry across the entire width, and one end had a waterfall mushroom for the kids.
Breakfast was the usual mix of hot and cold items, including eggs and waffles. Coffee all day in the lobby and the USA Today paper is on a rack underneath the lobby coffee station. There are multiple screens throughout the sitting area, but again, the lobby music is a little overpowering.
The hotel is right next to the Crabtree Valley Mall, but since you can only turn right on Glenwood, it's best to turn left on Arrow from the parking lot, go up the hill through the other hotels, and come into the mall from the back.
There were numerous meeting rooms in the hotel, although I did not use them. The business center had at least 4 or 5 stations, plus there is a separate boarding pass kiosk in the lobby, with a screen of airline departures. The hotel has a shuttle for close-in trips.
Staff was very friendly and fast. I would definitely stay here again.
