Although I grew up in Raleigh, I haven't lived there for a while, and my visits back are short, so I can't really compare to other options in town. But this an above average upscale bistro. I had specials both for app (rabbit and chorizo gumbo) and entree (rack of lamb). Others at the table had a range of dishes both from specials and regular menu. Most were very good, some outstanding (fried oyster app) one disappointing (pasta w/ truffle sauce, but not much identifiable truffle flavor.) Prices are a bit steep; lamb special was $38. Wine list overpriced, seemed about 3x retail, not much below $50/btl. So it's easy to run up a big bill---we ended up at about $80/person after tax and tip with some but not everyone having apps, drinks, or dessert. Only one bottle of wine. Room is ok, but TVs meant,I guess, for the bar are essentially in the dining room. Odd for this price point. Would certainly go back, but will probably try other places first.
