This BBQ joint aint much to look at but the food is good and it is very cheap with big portions. The BBQ and fried chicken are both good and the sides and hush puppies are consistently good also. The building isn't much to look at but don't be fooled. It is a very authentic eastern BBQ joint. The only reason I say it is average is the fact that I am comparing it to other BBq joints I have been to outside of Raleigh. As far as Raleigh goes...OLe time BBQ is very good.Just not many good bbq spots in the triangle. Check this little roadside gem out if you get a chance.

“Average bbq”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 8, 2012

The BBQ pork is good the chicken is dried out, not a huge fan of vinegar based BBQ, there is a guy behind them that's not a business who BBQ 's for his neighbors a few times a year that if he went into business he would north carolina barbeque places out of business. If you like north carolina barbeque old time is a good place to go

“What a fun little roadside BBQ joint!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 23, 2012

Delicious bbq, cole slaw and awesome hush puppies! They also sell the hush puppy mix at this small, quaint roadside joint. Kinda looks like a doublewide with a restaurant operating inside. It's a sure throwback to traditional old school BBQ. It's not fancy, but it's clean, busy and the food is great. The owner was extremely accommodating to us because we had our little baby in a car carrier.

Make sure to leave room for the banana pudding. YUMMY!!

“Good Eastern NC bbq, thin vinegary sauce is great, as is the Potato Salad”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 17, 2012

Fast and friendly, decent portions, bigger menu selection than some BBQ places I saw. Close to a few hotels

If you aren;t from NC you should really try the coastal BBQ, its so different than the thick sauce you see in the rest of the US, and I really think it's better, after eating at a few Easterm NC style places, including here and the famous Parkers
