“Excellent Italian Food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 12, 2014

518 West offers well prepared Italian cuisine at reasonable prices. I wish the menu was more varied, but the available choices are flavorful, well executed, and nicely presented. The Cafe has lovely decor and it makes for a relaxed dining experience. A great place for a delicious meal. Recommended!

“Love the food at 518!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 14, 2014

This has been one of my husband's and my favorite restaurants for years and a great place to go even if all in the group don’t like Italian (though I cannot comprehend this!) since it has options beyond pizza and pasta including fish, seafood, chicken and beef. I usually go for The Crab but recently sampled a variety of the pizzetas and loved them all! The crust from the wood burning oven was perfectly done and the locally sourced Italian sausage on one had wonderful flavor. Our recent visit was with a “Triangle Food Tour”. Getting to talk with the restaurant managers and their Executive Chef Serge was a real pleasure as it was obvious how much thought and care goes into incorporating local ingredients in the menu and preparing each dish.

“Another surprise”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 13, 2014

Happened on this by chance. Was in the area and could not decide what to eat. Had seen this restaurant on the web and decided to try it. Great decision. Robert was an excellent waiter and the food was excellent. Will definitely return. Although we visited on Sunday evening, we were told that Friday & Saturday nights are their busiest. You may want to call ahead.

Restaurant was recommended by hotel . Enjoyed the homemade pasta and companion enjoyed the lasagne . The desserts are wonderful - think tiramisu heaven . We liked the ambiance of exposed brick and multi levels . Staff is very responsive .we would recommend it

“Wonderful Rehersal Lunch!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 12, 2014

November 2013 I had my rehearsal lunch here. It was wonderful! We got married at All Saints Chapel so it was not a far drive. We did lunch to stay within budget. The upstairs area was beautiful and the waitress and staff was a pleasure to work with. They had gluten free options for the family members with allergies. My husband is a vegetarian and they had many options for that as well. They also let me have the alcohol be separate checks. The food came at a good speed and everything looked and tasted wonderful. I could not have asked for anything better!
