My daughter and her husband live close by and we all got up early on Sunday while we were visiting to come to the restaurant. We were seated straight away and our delightful server, Logan, took excellent care of us. The biscuits are heavenly, light as a feather, but don't fill up. All of our food was great. Eggs cooked perfectly, delicious potatoes, flavorful meats. All reasonably priced. It seemed to take a while to get our food but, we were chatting so it wasn't an issue.

We felt like we had finally found a place like on TV that makes you want to move to another Country. Perfectly fresh delicious top of the line quality healthy choices. All home grown
beautifully displayed farm produce including peaches, apples and some things we had never experienced. To complete a total package there are beautiful plants, planters, canned foods,
and meats/fish from locals and a few nice restaurants that smell so enticing you hate you are not hungry. There are also the heritage choices and the difference in quality was superior enough
that the canned variety I had previously done made me sad I couldn't go back and use these. They were that good. Best of all the price was comparable if not cheaper than your local grocer and not as expensive as some call"whole paycheck" stores. Plan on at least a hour to see it all min. and put on your slow down wheels and just ramble to see it all.

This was one of the places I wanted to visit while on vacation in Raleigh. It did not disappoint! Impressed by variety of fruits, veggies, cooked goods, gift items, cheeses, candies, etc. It is easy to do all of your grocery shopping right there, or go with someone special and pick up some delicious treats for an afternoon picnic. I wish there was a big farmers' market like this one in my city.

We always drop by the farmers market when passing through Raleigh, usually on weekends when it's at it's busiest. Have tried the small fast food stalls but never been able to get into The State Farmers Market restaurant.

This time we arrived on a Monday. The place was busy but we were seated within minutes. It's a but noisy inside. But the service is fast and you'll be sending leftovers back to the kitchen. Looking around the room it appeared no matter what you ordered you always got huge portions.
The food is plain home cooking, nothing fancy. But fresh and tasty.

Tab for 2 came to $21 including sweat ice tea. We'll be back.
