“good food”
Reviewed March 13, 2013

The food was great.and the amount was plentiful. I would recommend to call ahead.
The only thing that bothered me was I felt rushed.

“OUTSTANDING!!!”
Reviewed March 12, 2013

This was our third visit to The Angus Barn in as many years, and this place simply amazes us. The staff are always pleasant and helpful. Even when they are packed (and that seems to have been the case each time we arrived), they were able to work us in without reservations and without a hassle.

The decor is a bit hoaky, but it seems to fit the motif. It isn't what you would expect of an upscale restaurant, and I think I like that about them. This is upscale without the pretense.

The wine list is extensive and reasonably priced with a variety and price point to suit almost any desire. The menu is comparable with something for almost any palette. Food is served in a timely fashion without being either rushed or delayed. The portions are plentiful and most could easily be shared if desired. The food is hot and delicious!

The service was amazing! Percell was our waiter, and we could not have asked for a more delightful experience. He is pleasant, knowledgeable, accommodating, engaging and entertaining. We never had to wait for anything, and we never wanted for anything because Percell has a way of reading your every desire before you realize you have it.

We look forward to returning many times over...

BTW, for vintage handgun enthusiasts, you MUST check out their gun collection! What an impressive display!!!!

“Steak and Lobster Rule!”
Reviewed March 11, 2013

We had a wonderful meal from top to bottom with another couple. The two ladies had the steak and lobster tail and they both were fabulous! i had a salmon special that was outstanding as well. The onion rings and oysters were perfect. The atmosphere and service continue to be outstanding making this restaurant a must! Purely outstanding!

“Specialty Programs Excel”
Reviewed March 7, 2013

If you are not doing one of their specialty events (Captains Table- executive dining) etc. I think - not including the wine cellar, the restaurant is totally over rated for the price and food they deliver. Great bar, nice food there; 15 years ago it was the only game in town now others with like menus that have opened in the Triangle outshine the legacy. Total treadmill!

“Historic local treasure”
Reviewed March 6, 2013

We have been friends of the barn for a long time. Its always a good trip to go to the barn but even better on special occasions. If you havent been for Christmas, Thanksgiving, or Mother's day you are really missing out on a special treat. Van and Steve have put their best foot forward each and every time I have ever been. Just goes to show that mba stands for more bad advice ;)
