“Good food”
Reviewed December 21, 2013

The restaurant is downtown which makes it a great choice if you plan to enjoy theatre or museums in the capital. The food is good and not overpriced. I cannot give it 5 stars because is very, very noisy. Reservation is recommended because it is usually crowded. The atmosphere is casual-chic. It has its own parking area just cross the street.

“Not to be missed!”

Great Italian restaurant in downtown area. If you have time for only one meal in Raleigh this is the place. Great fresh dishes, well priced, great service and the owner's hand is ever present. I haven't tried the wine but the wine list looks outstanding.

Love the entire experience! The food here is always awesome - never had anything that wasnt just 'knock your socks off!" Ask for the "Reserve" wine list to truly compliment the meal...still affordable, but makes you feel a little more in the know to ask for the reserve list, right? Check it out for fantastic Italian! The owner is super personable & his staff is comprised of true professionals!

“Wow! What a meal!”
Reviewed November 2, 2013

We wound up here primarily because I won a raffle drawing and was given a gift certificate for this restaurant, we made a reservation because it was recommended and I would say on Friday and Saturday nights that would be a great idea. My partner and I both ordered an antipasta (appetizer), insalata (salad), entree and dessert. I had the prosciutto and melon for my antipasta which was thin slices (two) of prosciutto laid over melon. The prosciutto was superb and thinly sliced which was a perfect complement to the melon upon which it was laid. For my salad, I chose the insalata pastore which was goat cheese and walnuts drizzled with a nice balsamic vinegar laid upon a bed of greens. It was a beautiful combination and the walnuts were obviously fresh and made for a delightful salad. Following this I chose the veal parmigiana which was an incredibly large portion of veal with a beautiful light batter upon it and laid next to a serving of penne pasta and an incredible tomato sauce. After all of this, I managed to squeeze in an incredible dessert called Tartufo which is a very Italian dessert with a blend of chocolate and vanilla ice cream with a cherry in the center and crusted with chocolate shavings. By the end of the meal I was full, but did not feel that was over full. The portions were ample but not so much that you felt overfull at the end. HIGHLY recommend this restaurant. One final word would be that the restaurant was tastefully decorated without being a garish italian restaurant.
