Description: The Hibernian…an authentic taste of Irish culture. The Hibernian Irish Pub & Restaurants savor the old world and the new taste of Ireland. Hibernian is a word that is derived from the Latin term Hibernia which translates to 'one who comes from Ireland’, and that is exactly what you can expect from this pub. Carrying on with Irish tradition, we offer an atmosphere that infuses the alluring and relaxing nature of a traditional Irish social club and the warmth of a Gaelic home kitchen. The Hibernian Restaurant and Pubs offer a unique atmosphere that caters to people from all walks of life, from the family of four to the sports fan that is looking for a place to have a drink and watch the game, and even the professional who comes in to have a quick lunch in the middle of the day. Whether you’re stopping in for happy hour or to relax and enjoy the home cooked taste of Ireland, the pubs are a meeting place to talk, to debate, to sing, to laugh, to drink and to eat delicious food.

“Great atmosphere, good food”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 2, 2013

This restaurant seemed small at first, but we discovered it had a few rooms. We ordered the corned beef and cabbage. It was very tasty, but we only received two small pieces with potatoes and boiled cabbage. Would have like to have more meat for $14. Too bad it burned down. We will have to try the Cary location next time.

“Hanging Out”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 28, 2012

This is one of those places you go when you are hanging downtown. Food is ok and drinks are yummy. The Bourough, Tabacco Road, Tanners, Hibernian, Brooklyn Heights ... all make great bar hop places or a single place to go chill and just sit back and chat

“Good food and good atmosphere”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 4, 2012

The food here was surprisingly good. I had the fish and chips, another had bangers and mash and lastly a very good looking Salmon dish. All three of us were very happy with the quality of the food. This is also a very nice place to hang out and enjoy some company and a few good drinks. Reasonable whiskey selection according to some in our party. Will definitely go back here again. Also good location in Raleigh in proximity of other bars and on the downtown bus loop so good for pub crawling.

“A great taste of Irish American flavor!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 27, 2012 via mobile

I went in for late night food and drinks, stayed til close! The food was amazing and the service was fast and friendly, with real Irish bartenders... The establishment has that authentic Irish feel and is very welcoming to outsiders (gringos like me). Had a great experience overall and am considering making this my local spot!!

“Delicious fish and chips”

Big fan of fish and chips and this is a great place to have that dish. Have also enjoyed the homemade soups. Nice atmosphere, especially in the library.
