“Enjoyable experiences at Nina's”
Reviewed December 16, 2012

Over the years I have enjoyed Nina's, atmosphere is quaint, food is well excellent for the area. I have visited the restaurant with business associates, family, friends and date nights. One of the most important aspect of any restaurant for me is consistency. Our food has always been consistent at Nina's. I have never had standard or poor service here. The wine selection is great, one benefit of Nina's is they provide a wine list to fit all budgets and taste buds.

“Outstanding Italian food!”
Reviewed December 10, 2012

My husband and I went here for our anniversary. What a wonderful experience. The service, wine suggestion, food, atmosphere and company were all top notch. We split an appetizer, each had a salad and an dinner. We have been to Italy twice, and lived in the northeast where Italian foods is generally better than this area but Nina's is right up there. I would highly recommend it for anyone looking for a delicious authentic Italian experence.

“The bar is a great place to stop & enjoy a glass of wine”
Reviewed November 5, 2012

Friends and I were waiting on a show time, so we stopped by to have a glass of wine and were pleasantly surprised not only by their wine offerings, but their appetizer selection as well. We didn't have time for dinner, but the menu will bring us back for more.

“Better than Average but Not Quite Very Good”
Reviewed November 3, 2012

The Research Triangle Area in North Carolina is short on very good American-Italian restaurants. As far as food is concerned Nina's is a little better than average for the area but well short of very good when compared to American-Italian options in larger metropolitan areas like New York, Chicago, or Denver. Dishes are heavy on salt, balsamic and sweet wine (marsala) flavoring. We we there on a night when every table was filled and staffing was over extended. Wait staff tried and was pleasant but just not able to keep up. We had to ask too often for utensils and similar table fare. A significant short-coming is the wine list. Although there are a reasonable variety of italian selections, the wines are pricey: in the 2.5 to 3 times local retail price range. Moreover the wine list includes the warning at the bottom of each page "vintages subject to change without notice". This turns out to mean you really have no idea what vintage you will get. Since the wine list consist of printed pages behind plastic there is no excuse in the age of computers and printers for a wine list that is not up to date. When we asked about this peculiarity we were told the lack of up to date information on the wine list was an effort to save on recycled paper. Really! Why not just scratch out the vintage no longer available or the wines no longer available? Too busy to let the customer know what's available?

“Good Italian Food”
Reviewed September 10, 2012

We and our friends grew up in Italian neighborhoods surrounded by great cooks, so Italian restaurants need to be very good for us to return. Nina's is just such a place. We dine there often. Though it can be off some nights I have to say that most of the time it is very good and often hits the excellent mark.
