My husband had the Surf and Turf and I had the grilled Mahi Mahi. Everything was very delicious and we were very impressed. Even though its located about 50 minutes from us we plan to go again very soon. Our server was very helpful and took very good care of us.

This restaurant is a north Raleigh gem. Excellent food, service and atmosphere. A sure bet for special occasions for two or with a group of friends. Never a bad visit in 10 years plus.

We visited Margeaux with a Meet Up group of 12 people about 6 weeks ago on a Saturday night. Service was below average yet attributed it to the large party and busy night. Although the food was not wonderful it intrigued us enough to do a repeat visit. This time there were only 4 of us on a not busy Monday night. Our waitress was quite graceless, my husband never got his iced tea, my small glass of diet coke (full of ice) was only refilled once and plates were slapped down on the table like if we were in some kind of institution. The Ceasars salad was dry and sad - the dressing was completely tasteless, just fatty tasting. The 3 scallops were tiny and in a pseudo-Asian mucky sauce. The only redeeming course was the chocolate mouse. We will not return.

We only go to Margaux for special occasions, and we have never been disappointed. The service is friendly and efficient and the food is simply delicious. The crab cake appetizer is out of this world and the herb-crusted chicken breast is truly wonderful. The only negative is the accoustics, which make it difficult to hear at times - but the addition of the outdoor seating (whilst over looking a parking lot) is a very pleasant place to sit and enjoy a summer evening.

Treated my son and daughter-in-law to dinner recently. Was the night before Mother's Day and area college graduations so wasn't able to get reservations until 8:30. Note to self...be more aware of these types of events which overload all the good restaurants in raleigh. Son and DIL had the seafood trio risotto. It was wonderfully seasoned and textured. There was enough left over for a takeaway box. I had the salmon w/mashed potatoes. Also very tasty. The salmon was very nicely seared with a nice crispy crust but tender inside. The only criticism is that it was a rather skimpy piece.

The interior of Margaux's is beginning to appear a bit dated. That might be something they should consider changing. I celebrated my 40th BD there and 20 years later the main dining area is looking pretty dreary.

Very attentive service.
