Description: Right in the heart of downtown Raleigh, Bida Manda is a thoughtful and sharp gathering place celebrating the diverse food and culture of Laos. Bida Manda is one of the very first Laotian restaurants in the US. Sanskrit for father and mother, we name the restaurant Bida Manda as our way of honoring our parents in Laos who taught us everything we know about food, hospitality, and the power it has in bringing people together. Our parents' recipes are the inspiration for our menu. Every dish on our menu is exactly what we grew up eating. They are the kind of dishes you might find on the street corners of Luang Prabang and at a Laotian home. Come in and go away with us on sensational culinary journey to Laos. ------ Whether it is a birthday dinner for 10 guests or a corporate event for 100+, we will work with you to craft your memorable dining experience. Please contact Vansana Nolintha at vansana@bidamanda.com for more information.

This restaurant serves many great Laotian dishes where you can tell the ingredients are fresh and there is a perfect blend and proportioned amount of spices. Eat bite brings out a burst of flavor. The staff is very good and the owner always makes sure to greet each table. I've been there three times now. I've taken co-workers who now make a regular trip to Bida Manda even though it is about 1 hour away from our office.

If you don't like to venture away from chain restaurants with highly salted foods and simple American entrees, this restaurant is not for you.

If you have a sophisticated palate and appreciate tastes from other regions in the world, you will love this place.

An added bonus ... their gluten free and vegan menu items are clearly marked making this an ideal place for most people to dine.

We tried Bida Manda as part of restaurant week offerings, but once we got there, everything looked so good on the menu that my husband decided to forgo the restaurant week menu and order off the regular menu. We had made reservations through open table, but due to busy restaurant week, we ended up waiting an extra 20 minutes. They gave us an extra appetizer to make up for us waiting, which was a nice gesture. We had the crab cakes, spring rolls, and summer rolls as appetizer (we ordered 2 but when they brought the appetizers, they brought out the complimentary one as well so it was a lot of food). My husband ordered the ginger glazed pork ribs and I had the chicken curry. The flavors were fantastic and the presentation was very pretty. This was asian food but with a touch of elegance!

I live on the Durham/Chapel Hill border where the food is outstanding in both towns. Perhaps I was expecting too much, but I cannot understand why the ratings on your site are mostly 5-star endorsements.

My wife and I dined at a number of new (to us) restaurants during Raleigh Restaurant Week. Bida Manda was one of our best choices. The food was excellent both in taste and variety. The service left nothing to be desired. For a wonderful night on the town, this is definitely one of the places to go.
