“A little loud but overall fun environment.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 16, 2013

Food is good but the large menu is overwhelming. After watching Gordon Ramsey say large menus usually mean the quality of the food is low makes me suspicious. However, the outdoor environment is really cool and I'm looking forward to sitting out there in the warmer weather.

“NOT accomodating to patio diners”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 15, 2013

Was there for big UNC/ Duke rivalry game. We sat on the patio because there are tv's out there and although it was a little cold, the fires made it perfect on this night. We asked BEFORE settling in (so that we had a chance to go elsewhere before tip-off) if the sound would be on for game instead of the music they were playing. The answer was yes. We got to have sound until about half time and they just turned it off! When we asked why they said people in apartments were complaining. What? The apartments are pretty far away AND the tv sound could have turned to the same level they'd had music playing at all day. We had to move inside and attempt to find a seat near a tv. VERY annoying. Food was okay. Woodchuck Pear Cider was very flat and I really should have complained, but didn't.

“Good food and service; but pricy and crowded”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 31, 2013

OK, first, full disclosure: I HATE SPORTS BARS. And I'm not a big beer drinker. So when friends, who do love sports bars and drink lots of beer, invited us to meet them on a recent Saturday night for dinner at the Yard House, I went with low expectations of having a good meal. I was mildly surprised. The food was very good and service was prompt and friendly. Clearly, Yard House's kitchen and wait staffs are a cut above those at your average sports-bar-styled casual restaurant. And the beer selection - if you're into that sort of thing - is indeed vast. But on the downside, the place was so loud and crowded it was hard to hear our friends on the other side of our booth. And prices seemed a bit high for what we got. We had two medium-sized pizzas, a entree-style salad, an appetizer, two desserts, four beers and a Coke. Portions were generous but not huge. The bill, after 15 percent tip, came to $95. ($26 of the bill was for the four beers, which were good but not THAT good.) Would we go back? Probably not. If I'm going to spend nearly $100 on dinner, I prefer to go somewhere less crowded and noisy, and without large-screen TVs blaring Big Ten games at me while I dine. But if you enjoy sports bars, this is likely the best of the bunch in Raleigh.

“Fun Experience - Okay Food”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 25, 2013

The food on this trip was just okay for me. I tried the mac and cheese which was really talked up by my friends, but I wasn't that impressed.

The drinks on the other hand were great! The atmosphere is fun, and I will visit again.

Hi mommiesonvacation - We are deeply disheartened to learn that you were not impressed with our Mac & Cheese. Please know this is not typical feedback as the dish is one of our house favorites. We are sorry we let you down and would certainly like for you to give us another shot. When time allows, please contact us at guestservices@yardhouse.com. Thank you.

“Great spot”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 20, 2013

Took the family on a Saturday night, very busy, but a short 20 minute wait to be seated. excellent service, and the food was superb. Large and small portions available on many menu choices, if you're really hungry go large, and count on having leftovers, a bit pricey but still a good value over all. Atmosphere and crowd where good, not so much for little kids, but they do accommodate the under 12 crowd well. they bill it as "classic rock" and that is in the broadest sense of the term, the music spanned 40 years and was a good soundtrack to go with good eats. Had the Bearnaise sliders and will repeat!
