We went to Sola last night because one of our favorite local musicians was going to perform. When we realized they offered a dinner menu we decided we'd eat there and make it easy.
The atmosphere is fabulous. From the antique typewriters and cameras on shelves to the stash of cards and board games to the polite reminders not to take up a large table with your laptop and your single self, it's designed to make people feel welcome. The baristas are friendly and chatty (and patient! the person in front of us took forever and a day to make her order) and the owner circulated regularly to talk to customers and make sure they had everything they needed.
Our food was terrific. From our son's pizza to my turkey sandwich to my husband's latte to our round of mini cinnamon donuts and dipping chocolate...it was all terrific quality, served as we ordered it, and delicious. I will be back and will make sure to try my standby hot chocolate and see how it compares to my favorite coffeeshop ever, Durham's Cocoa Cinnamon.
I highly, highly recommend this place for anyone looking to support local businesses and enjoy their coffee fix.
