This park has both natural and paved trails; I prefer the natural. The lake is small but very scenic with many varieties of water fowl. It was one of my favorite places to walk my dog and think. The park has exceptional potential but several issues unfortunately make it only average. The park lacks supervision and it lacks maintenance. Consequently, although there are signs that dog owners must keep their dog on a leash it's rare to see that in effect once dog owners leave the park office area. I have often been confronted by large dogs that are running through the woods out of sight of their owners. Some are friendly; some are not. Dog owners often do not pick up after their dogs despite the fact that waste bags are available. It is not uncommon to see waste piles in the middle of the trail. Finally, there is a huge litter problem that despoils the lake. It is not uncommon to see paper cups, bags, sandwich wrappers, etc. littering the waters edge and parts of the trail. I have walked and jogged the trails since before the park was improved (about 27 years) and never seen any park personnel except at the boat dock and office. This park is a jewel but it needs attention.
