“Awesome historic park!”

Mordecai Historic Park

These buildings are beautiful and really well preserved. The park takes you back to old Raleigh antebellum style! The only bad thing I can say is the tour guides are a little disorganized and although well versed in the history of the home, not as well knowledgable in the general history of the era!

The historic park itself is somewhat interesting, with its old time buildings and such, but the real winner here is the Raliegh Trolley Tour. I couldn't find a seperate way to review it, so I'll just use this site, because we bought the trolley tickets from inside this Mordecai building for $10.
We had never been to NC before, and we had a rental car, but didn't really know what was where, etc. So for $10 we hopped on the trolley that picks you up right in front of this building.
It was wonderful, our host Josh was very interesting. Over the 40 minute tour, they took us past the Governor's Mansion, lots of antebellum mansions, historic sites, the capitol building, Snoopy's Hot Dogs, etc. So we got to see it all in comfort. After the tour ended, we just walked back over to the capitol building and looked around, then we ate slaw and chili dogs at Snoopy's.

I went with my children to see what it was all about. It's basically a bunch of buildings and a garden. That's it. It is cool to see a historical home. Preserved very well as we should keep some things around from our past. I support the idea and it is a quiet little stroll. Just don't expect much.
