Again, TA was spot on with the reviews for Pullen Park. My kids and I (ages 8 and 3)enjoyed a morning here and brought along a picnic lunch.
We arrived just before 10:00, which I would recommend based on parking and that it was not too busy. By 10:30, the crowds had rolled in.
The landscaping is beautiful - on par with Busch Gardens and Disney. We strolled around a bit and then the kids explored the playground. There are many pieces of equipment and stations for all ages! Next, it was on to the rides ($1/ticket). The kiddie boats were too "tame" for my 8 year old, but the little kids seemed to enjoy it. We all liked the train ride around the park and the carousel (yes, it's rather fast as another person said). We skipped the paddle boats.
We found a shady spot and enjoyed our picnic lunch. Afterwards, we treated ourselves to a locopop (local made popsicles). It was a fun morning out!
