The Brio restaurant is tucked away off to one side at the Crabtree Mall, and we had never tried it before, but we'd made a purchase at a nearby jewelry store, and needed a speedy lunch. We were seated immediately. The surroundings were sumptuous, rather like an elegant movie set of an Italian villa. Our waiter was very friendly. We ordered the soup and salad--we had lobster bisque and the wedge salad. Traditional bread and a generous portion of butter was brought to our table immediately. Also in the bread basket were interesting thin wedges covered in cheese and spices. It was interesting and different, and we liked them. They made good crackers to go with the soup.
The soup was all right, but the salad was excellent: a large wedge of iceberg lettuce topped with a creamy dressing, chopped tomatoes, bacon bits, and blue cheese. Our waiter was quick to refill our drinks several times (I like lots of water) and all in all, did a great job.
The prices were a little high for pasta dishes, I noticed, but the elegant atmosphere rather made up for it.
I noticed a room at one end of the restaurant that would make a good place to have a party, etc. We will be back!
