“Disappointing”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 31, 2013

My wife, son and I went to Chow recently for her birthday dinner. She chose it; she was in the mood for a sandwich or pizza, not a fancy dinner. She figured since Chow is run by the same company that runs two of our favorite N. Raleigh restaurants - the always reliable Vivace and Coquette - it would serve up good food but in a more casual, relaxed environment. Wrong on both counts. The dining room/bar area is cavernous and cold, and was incredibly noisy and crowded the night we were there (a Friday night). Unattended small children scurried back and forth past our table the entire time we were there (we were seated near the rear of the restaurant, near the pool table). Our table didn't have chairs with backs - we had backless bar stools which were not comfortable. The food offered no redemption for our discomfort. My wife's black bean veggie burger was so heavily loaded with jalapenos that she stopped eating it about 1/3 of the way thru. The pizzas that my son and I ordered had toppings that tasted none too fresh. We got take-home boxes but by the time we reached home - a 10-minute drive - all three of our stomachs were so queasy that we simply tossed the food in the trash.

“This is a great restaurant to "Chow" down to!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 6, 2012

We have been to this restaurant several times and continue to enjoy it each time we go. It is a perfect blend of a family restaurant and bar scene we've ever visited. While there you will notice little league baseball teams coming in to enjoy the after game meals, as well as the "big boys" meeting together at the bar celebrating their "youth" after their sporting events. The food is great and the beer selection has no competition in this North Raleigh area.

“Better than average Burger”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 1, 2012

Black and Blue was very good...nice in house ground burger, cooked perfectly...requested crispy fries also prepared perfectly...I'd have liked a bit more blackening spices but supplemented with several dashes tabasco which worked just fine and added a surprisingly nice vinegar note....
Kitchen little slow on cook time on a Saturday lunch, but it turned out to be worth the wait...a rare enough thing in itself... Next burger will be at Chow...

“Great beer selection with great wings”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 28, 2012 via mobile

Most of the food is what you'd find in your average bar. The wings were really good with lots of choices as far as mild to hot goes. The fish tacos were really good too. And as I stated the beer selection is very good too. During warmer weather there is also an outside seating area which is nice. There are also some good vegetarian options too. Lots of TVs to enjoy your favorite game!

“Great restaurant!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 23, 2012

Me and my fiance have been here twice. So far I have tasted the Cuban sandwich, amazing! The White Chili Nachos, great. The pizza I don't remember the name but it had some kind of white sauce, spinach, and cheese, that was the best! And we had the BBQ wings which we weren't too much of a fan but that's okay. We have always received good service here. We will definitely be back.
