I had dinner with a friend here. The drinks were great but the food was a bit hit or miss. The carrot hummus was clever (loved the crackers) but lacked flavor. The poutine was fun but not fabulous. The arugala salad was actually exceptional and worth going back for. The presentation was all lovely though and I appreciate the veg and vegan options so I can meet my friends there. Will definitely try again.

Big upgrade over Boylan as the beer is really good. We were hopeful on the food, but I think they are trying too hard. Make it simple and good. Instead of Korean wings Buffalo would be way better and 3 full wings for $12 is pretty pricey. They were just OK. Also had the Carrot Hummus. That wasn’t a good move. Regular hummus would be better or a slight change like Jalepeno hummus based on chick peas. Hopefully they learn and adjust as the atmosphere and beer are awesome

This is the new establishment that replaces the now closed Boylan Bridge Brewpub in this location, and it has the same spectacular views of downtown Raleigh and now overlooks the new Raleigh Union Station, which sits in in the middle of the Wye. That's where the first part of the name comes from, a wye being a railroad junction with three tracks forming a generally triangular shape where a northbound train can turn around and go southbound and vice versa. This and all the surrounding tracks can be seen from the outside dining deck, along with panoramic vistas of the city, given that this is on a "Hill" side. Next door is the Boylan Street Bridge for confirmed rail shutterbugs.

This is billed as a brewpub, and considerable effort has been put into developing the beer selections. Wine and signature cocktails are also on the menu. This is also a gastropub, with a farm-to-table emphasis on local ingredients. They even have a limited children's menu, and I must say the chicken tenders appeared to be handcrafted and not something out of a box. The main menu features some creative starters along with sandwiches and larger plates and sides. The steamed mussels were tender and tasty with chunks of kielbasa and a sauce that you will want to get every drop of with the included focaccia bread. The catfish BLT is just what it sounds like, a meaty fried catfish chop on a toasted BLT sandwich, and we loved it. The fries were nicely seasoned, and we took some home. The Night Train Lager was a refreshing quaff to compliment the food. The outside dining area of course is the best place to see the city, and provides enough shade and big fans to protect you from the Carolina midday heat, It is also canine-friendly, and several people were relaxing with their pooches. The interior has a handsome bar and lounge area, and would be a fine place to hang out if the weather drives you indoors. Being the city, parking is catch as catch can; there are some pay lots around, but we found a street space on W. Hargett.

We were pleased with the friendly service, and will come back to try some of the other selections.
