I booked the room for a one night stay on 9/10/10 in a king room and a week apart on 9/17/10 for one night. We stayed there because we flew into RDU to drive down to Holden Beach for the week. One of the main reasons we stayed here because we could do some shopping here and stock up on supllies before we went to the beach. Also there is alot of eating options in the area. The entrance to the hotel is kind of weird, it dosent look like there is valet parking the way the curb/entrance to the hotel is and it is not coverd like a normal hotel entrance. Parking is hard to get on the surface but plenty on the garage levels. Just something I thought I would point out. Check in was simple as it seems they had to rooms pre blocked.

The rooms are set up nice. There is a very nice TV in the room but the picture on them is horrible because it is not digtal its just a hotel being cheap. The tv in the bathroom had a better picture in it. And it was like this in both rooms I stayed in, one room on the 4th floor and one on the 6th. There is no minibar in the room or fridge. Free WIFI. The beds are nice had a good feel to them. One thing I dont like about the rooms is the A/C does not seem to work that well. The second night we stayed I had to call down to the front desk to ask for a fan at midnight because it quit blowing cold air it was cool. I could tell the compressor seems to be knocking in it. The showers and the bathroom are very nice. Other than that issue I would stay here again but it would be a second or third choice in the city. Well see about next year.

This was our first time in Raleigh and we followed the lead of TA to locate a highly rated hotel in the North Raleigh area. While the rate at the Renaissance was somewhat pricier than neighboring properties, it certainly was worth it. The hotel is located in the middle of a lovely high-end shopping mall which has many unique shops, restaurants and even a J.C. Penney;s and Target. You can save a few dollars by using self parking or use valet which is comes at a high price ($14), but since our stay was short, we took advantage of valet.

Staff provided excellent and efficient service at the front desk, but not in the restaurant. The hotel was clean and except for a few slamming doors and highway noises our room was relatively quiet. Bed linens and bath amentities (Aveda) were top of the line, and the room also had a coffeemaker, and flat screen TV with good channel and TV selections, including in-room excercise videos.

The decor of the rooms, lobby and bar are trendy. We only used the restaurant for breakfast one morning and found it just regular. There was a rather standard buffet which we declined, and the table service was not up to our standards, nor was the food. The next morning we had coffee and rolls with a friend who joined us and we were embarrassed the lack of service and attention. We were told, however, that the restaurant was highly rated for its evening dining cuisine.

We had a very good dinner at Vivace, an Italian restaurant in the mall and on Saturday morning were treated to beautiful white tents erected on the mall with a wonderful Farmer's Market. There were also several activities going on for the kids, and there is a huge cinema with 14 theaters; a Gold's gym that you have privileges to as a hotel guest, and also a spa is located right next to the hotel. The location is great and can make for a fun weekend getaway. Once you get there, the fun is right outside your door.

For full disclosure Renaissance Hotels are my favorite brand. This means that they probably get extra scrutiny based on my expectations.

This hotel is fantastic. Check-in/out was great. Restaurant was great. Room service was great. Everything is super clean. King size room wasn't extra-large by any means but big enough. Room also had mini-fridge and one-person at a time coffee maker.

Bathroom also isn't huge, but again big enough. Great shower w/glass shower door! For TV watchers there is a television in the bathroom mirror. Hard to explain but there's a TV remote in the bathroom and if you point it towards the mirror, it comes on. Not my thing but some may like it.

Location is fantastic - walk to Starbucks, Target, nice restaurants, casual restaurants, movie theater and much, much more. Free covered garage parking is an added bonus.

Very clean room with great ammenities...soaps, shampoos were lovely. Not too thrilled with the neighborhood. Although everyone wrote about it being high end...I saw too many shady characters ganging around for me to consider it...high end. The pool was green and had yucky algae like stuff on the floors. It was a huge, maze like hunt to find it and then it was a serious disappointment. I wouldn't let the kids swim in it. The food areas surrounding the hotel were all too commercial, pricey, and boring. The staff at breakfast were very professional, helpful, and kind. The man at the front desk/store Sunday morning was super- funny and genuinely NC hospitable. Not sure if I would come back as I didn't feel too safe outside at night.

Stay here if for no other reason than the quaint little area of North Hills. We were here for 2 nights during my daughter's graduation from NC State and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We were able to take advantage of the spa next door, a good variety of dining establishments, the large movie theater and even a little shopping (although unfortunately most of the stores close at 6 or 7:00). The room was nicely decorated with a good shower in the bathroom. I would recommend asking for a room in the front of the hotel to have a view of the North Hills area - the other side just basically has a view of the busy highway, which I would think could be much more noisy.

I had a doctors appt in Raleigh so we decided to come on Sunday and attend the NC Ag Festival and spend the night. We chose this hotel. I booked the room through priceline choose your price and got it a little cheaper. Check in was fine, the lobby is very stylish, elevator was the smoothest I have ever been on, you can only access the elevator with your room key for safety, the hallways were spotless as was the room. It was raining & there was a valet with an umbrella if you needed it. There was staff mopping the floor continous in order to keep it dry. The room was well furnished & high end. The sheets were high count and soft. The bed did not sleep that great but I am used to a foam matress. The hdtv had a great pic, the bathroom had good pressure & the extra water jets were great, furnished toiletries, & soft toilet tissue. I do wish the room had a fridge. The nearby area offers several restraurant options, we chose Firebirds Grill and had the best prime rib ever. We walked around the shopping area and felt very safe. Movie theater nearby and shopping was a plus. Would stay here in the future. The cleanest establishment I have every stayed in. I highly recommend.

We stayed for one night at the hotel at the tale end of a Carolina tour. We lived in Raleigh over 20 years ago and were interested in seeing how the town had developed since then (might have stayed had it had an NHL franchise back then!). This hotel represents that change. It is wordly, modern and focused on providing flawless service to its guests. Unlike the best of the other spots where we stayed in the Carolinas, the Renaissance doesn't ooze charm, but it makes up for that in location, efficiency and ease of stay. Raleigh's change in my view has been massively for the better and accomodations like this put a progressive stamp on it.
