We are not from the NC area & so we asked around for a good BBQ restaurant. The Pitt was highly recommended. We had 9:00 pm reservations on a Sun night. When we arrived we noticed the hours on the door indicated closing at 9:00 pm. However, no problem because we had a reservation. There was plenty of parking across the street The atmosphere was very open & modern-not what I would have expected for a BBQ restaurant. The music was blaring so it was difficult to talk even though we were almost the only customers. The wait staff was OK-they were probably tired. They announced that they were out of Pulled Pork. We enjoyed the corn bread & biscuits. We shared the bacon bruschetta & it was delicious. They allowed us to order a small salad as one of our sides. We were expecting to complete our appetizer, then complete the salad & then be served the entrée. However, within 5 minutes we had the entire meal crowding our table! The chopped BBQ just melted in your mouth & it came w/2 types of sauces. The beef brisket wasn't as tender but it also was very tasty. The double combo was a great way to sample a number of items-the meatloaf was good. The cole slaw & sweet potato fries were also good.
