I got the ribs platter. Simply to die for. The best part of the meal was the sauce. The ribs were great too. Make reservations ahead of time.

Excellent food -- especially the fried green tomatoes! Being a vegetarian, I sometimes struggle to find things to eat in Southern style restaurants. The Pit was a happy exception, as there were plenty of options. I went with the fried green tomatoes and was not disappointed!

This is by far the best BBQ in the Triangle, maybe the state of NC. I have had some killer BBQ in SC and VA, but The Pit is the best around. Everything from the atmosphere, service, menu, desserts, drinks, price, amount of food, smells, etc...... EVERYTHING is amazing! I highly suggest going there for any occasion, or a special occasion. I promise you will not be disappointed.

Tradtional Southern foods in upscale atmosphere. Expect lots o' meat options (and the resulting "meat sweats") with various sauces/"ointments". If you grew up, or are used to southern food, you'll love it. NC BBQ, Briskets, Tomato based BBQ, sides of collards, mac/cheese, sweat potato fries, coleslaw. If you're not used to souther cooking can be a little "greazy". We're not frequent southern eaters so both needed a few Tums afterwards AND we had skipepd apps and desserts. Very busy Sat night so service was a bit rushed and "here's menu...back in 5... what do you want?" Prices are decent for upscale restaurant.

This was actually my first visit, The service was very good, and the food tasted yummy, Our cornbread didn't taste quiet right, So The server took it and took it off our bill and gave both of us a huge piece of cake which was really nice & We had to get a take out box, They gave you a lot of food. Everything was quiet good along with the customer service.
