DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Raleigh - Brownstone - University
Ranked #13 of 87 Hotels in Raleigh

I went to the Double Tree by Hilton Brownstone this past Saturday for a Gala for couples. Oh my goodness. It was great. The ballroom we were in was awesome and great dance floor. This use to be just the Brownstone and was old and needed an update...and that they did. The rooms are real nice and they have a really nice area for someone that is getting married. I called it the bridal suite very nice.

It is also close to downtown Raleigh where you can go see FREE museums and great restaurants.

Room Tip: All the rooms that we toured would be nice for any event..wedding or family reunion

My company held a meeting at the DoubleTree Raleigh Brownstone Hotel in January 2013. I can not say enough great things about this property.

First of all, their recent renovations to the meeting space, sleeping rooms, and public areas make this property look and feel like a high-end hotel, but at a much cheaper rate. The sleeping rooms are updated and spacious, all having their own private balconies. There is plenty of meeting space for large conferences, smaller breakout rooms, and very well equipped boardrooms and suites.

As great as everything looked, what made our stay so great was the staff. Derek on the sales team and Heather on the meetings team were always willing and able to help with anything we needed. They went ouf of their way to accomodate any wishes, no matter how crazy they seemed. The rest of the banquet staff were always around (very surprising) and helpful as well. The front desk was so close to the meeting space, making it very easy to get ahold of anything and anyone we needed. Their AV contact was amazing and really helped get our program off to a great start!

A great thing about holding a meeting, wedding, conference, etc in this property is that you will most likely be the only event taking place. So anything you need, everyone is right at your service in a snap. That is way more valuable then going to a huge convention center or large downtown property where the staff are working on 5-6 other events at the same time.

Of course you can't beat the rate at this hotel, especially for the quality you are getting. So if you are just visiting for the night or in town for a long period of time, I highly recommend this property.

The catering prices are also extremely affordable. The good was delicous and well presented. We saved alot of money on just food and beverage costs by choosing this property. Their restaurant also serves some really yummy food at great prices!

One last plus - there is SO much in walking distance to this hotel. Restaurants, shopping, parks, YMCA, the university. All within steps of the front door. That's a big reason why we choose this property over the downtown Raleigh hotels.

Enjoy!

Room Tip: The top 2 floors have larger beds than the bottom 6 floors. So book high for a bigger bed!

The DoubleTree by Hilton was the perfect hotel for us to visit NCSU. Enjoyed the food, the room and being so close to the campus. I've stayed at more expensive hotels in Raleigh for conferences a number of times over the years, and they were nice too, but none would be better for the purpose of visiting NC State. The room, bathroom, beds (firm mattresses - kind of like comfort fitting) were top notch. The staff at the bar (had a late night meal there), the restaurant (breakfast) and at reception were remarkebly nice - each one seemed to enjoy working there. I expect I will return...

Room Tip: We stayed on the west side and had a view of the monument at NCSU. Heard the "bells" ring...

I want to share with everyone about the excellent stay I had last week at this hotel.
It starts with the kindness of everyone at chech-in point, plus the care of a warm cookie which makes a difference, specially after many hours of flight. Furthermore the rooms are pretty much renovated, silent rooms, clean and comfort for a pleasant stay. The room service is excellent with great prices. The breakfast is also very good and offers variety for your diet or special desires.Congratulations to the manager and his staff! I recommend this hotel and will return many other times, for sure. Staff including Marie, Reginald, Tanya, Cynthia, Faizan and were all incredibly helpful.

Thank you! Came for a conference and got dry-cleaning taken care of and delivered to my door when I was short on time. Love the 8th floor view and balcony. Restaurant is great; room service is great; used the gym. Tanya was extra helpful at breakfast, Thank you!

Every single request was kindly met including late checkout due to a late flight.

You can get Y passes to a great Y next door.

Walking distance to grocery and shops and restaurants through cute neighborhoods.

Room Tip: 8th floor with downtown view for sunrise; other side for sunset.

Warm greeting as well as warm cookies when we arrived. Staff was very accommodating when we needed feather-free pillows since I forgot to request that ahead of time. Excellent room service. Great location for events in downtown Raleigh especially for the price difference compared to other hotels. Ample close parking for no fee. If and when in Raleigh again I would definitely stay here.
