My boyfriend and I have stayed at this Ramada Inn twice and have been pleased both times. It is about a 20 minute walk to the RBC Center, which is why we were there. (Don't attempt to do it in the rain as there is no sidewalk and we had to walk in the mud.) Our room was clean with no odors. There was a brown stain (eww) on one of the towels, so we ran out of big towels for a shower. My boyfriend had to use a hand towel to dry off with. The continental breakfast consists of bagels, muffins, cereal, waffles, juices, and coffee. The pool area looked nice, but it was closed for the winter. The only gripe I have with this hotel is that the bed made both of our backs hurt. Not sore, but HURT! It still hurts over a month later. Overall, we were pleased with the service and hotel.

We recently went to Raleigh to see the Monet exhibit at the NC Museum of Art. It was the last day so we had tickets to enter the exhibit at 3:00 AM. So we got a room at the Ramada on Blue Ridge because the price was reasonable and the location was great. The room was heavily used but not in terrible condition – about what I expected for this hotel given its location. We checked in, had a fair meal at the hotel and went to bed early to catch a nap before we had to get up for the 3:00 AM entrance. That’s when the trouble started. Shortly before midnight, groups of twenty something’s started coming in from a night on the town. Loud talking, laughing, shouting and doors slamming continued until 2:30 AM when we left to go to the museum. It was ridiculous! We will not be staying there again.

Let me precede my review by saying that this hotel has been under construction for 2 months according to the front desk.
Although during my stay, I just saw one man painting the hall. My family and I decided to stop in Raleigh to check out the city as we were passing through the state of NC. We were very tired and walked into the Ramada to get a room for the 2 days we planned to stay. Don't be fooled by the decent lobby, I saw a pretty clean area with a bar/lounge and several people standing around so I thought it was ok to stay. When we got into the room, the TV was not working, maintenance was sent up and after several minutes and noticing that the entire cable was pulled out of a gaping hole in the wall; he encouraged the front desk to change our room. The next room had a working TV, but the tub was dirty and the stopper was broken. I learned after we checked in that the pool is not open (they are waiting for inspection), you get a better internet connection in the lobby or the parking lot, and the exercise room is not functional. The breakfast is fine, the attendant is very nice. Oh, and that bar/lounge is not open either, upon closer inspection, there is not one bottle of wine, liquor or soda to be found. In the daytime, the lobby seems a little gloomy and I honestly believe that my families of 3 were the majority of patrons at the time I stayed there. It gets better, when we turned on the TV the next morning (2nd day), it wasn't working. We called the front desk to report it and received a return call letting us know that the cable/ dish network was down and should be back up shortly; it still wasn't working when we checked out the next morning! When getting dressed, one of the maintenance men walked into the room without knocking. He apologized and left immediately. 'when I went to check the door, I was surprised to see that you did not need a card key to access the room, just push the door really hard and it opens. The person at the front desk did not seem too concerned when I reported this. Upon check-out, I requested to see the manager on duty, but there was no manager on duty at the time we checked out. According to the woman at the front desk, the manager would be in around 11 or 12 noon. There was no way I was staying one minute longer than I had to, so I left a message to have him call me; I haven't heard from him as of today(2 weeks later). Do yourself a favor and stay anywhere else. Maybe once the construction is done, service will get better. I have pictures that I will post.

My experience here was memorable to say the least. When you think of a Ramada Inn you think 'hotel' but this is a motel according to my standards. The AC was not working properly which caused for a humid/sticky room. It never truly got to a comfortable cooling temperature. The front desk offered no apology and was rather rude. They explained all the rooms took a while to cool off.

The other issue was the water pressure. Typically hotels have controls to cut down on water pressure but the water was literally trickling. It took forever to take a shower. The front desk sent maintenance up to replace the shower head which was really no different. Again, they said all the showers had lower water pressure but this was beyond low.

So although I needed to be close to the fairgrounds I would rather drive a farther distance and pay a little more for a comfortable stay. Would not recommend!!!

We booked this hotel because it was in walking distance of the fairgrounds.
We stayed there on Friday 10/22/05.

The room was clean and didn’t have that weird odor associated with some hotel rooms.

It was clean with one exception. There is a bloodstain on the curtain and dried blood and dirt on the desk chair. Yuck. I know the blood is isolated incident; however, it doesn't appear the staff cleans the chairs at all. I had to get some cleaner from the staff and clean it myself.

It took almost 20 minutes standing in the lobby to get the cleaner. The hotel only had ONE employee working for a completely booked hotel!
He thought it more important to check people in and make me wait until I convinced him otherwise. It took him over 10 minutes to actually find some cleaner.

Ok, back to the room. Overall the room, carpet, bed, bathroom was clean.
Don't expect a great shower. Someone holding his or her thumb over the end of a garden hose produces a better stream.

The hallways were quiet at night. No issues there.

The continental breakfast was VERY sparse. Of course, there is a restaurant on site that I am sure the hotel would prefer you to use. We didn’t eat there so I can’t comment on that.

As far as safety/security in the area… I called the desk officer at Raleigh PD and he said the general area was safe. As a police officer myself, I agree. No worries about the immediate surrounding area, parking lot, etc. There is a highway patrol office a couple doors down.

So, to sum it up; it is OK for a quick night’s stay. It is not the worst, but definitely, not the best in its class.

I could not believe how nice the Ramada Inn Blue Ridge was. I am a very picky hotel guest and dread a nights stay in a hotel. The Ramada Inn Blue Ridge was listed as a 2 star hotel so I was dreading it the moment the motel was booked. Upon arrival, the motel staff was so kind and accommodating. The outside grounds were neatly kept and clean. The hallway leading to the room was quiet, clean and well lit. I was amazed at how nice the room was. It had beautiful, updated decorations, lots of room, but most important, VERY CLEAN. The bed was so comfortable that I had no trouble sleeping but trouble getting up :) The continental breakfast offered was (very) light so decided to eat off site. Checkout was quick and pleasant. For this picky hotel guest, the Ramada Inn Blue Ridge was a 4-star experience!
