“This is the place!”
Reviewed April 20, 2009

My teenage daughter and I stayed here over Spring break on our college tour of North Carolina. This place had it all - cleanliness, style, great front desk folks, cool big screen tv to watch the NCAA championship (and the Tarheels won!), and it had great value. The room was roomy, beautiful and stylish. THe restaurant out front within walking distance - Bahama Breeze - was excellent. We highly recommend it.

The room layout was different than your usual hotel layout. The large screen TV was simultaneously viewable from both the sitting area and the bedroom area, even though a screen separated the two areas. The TV was very clear and crisp. The bed was one of the best hotel beds I have ever slept in. It was firm, and it also had a pillow top, just like my bed at home. The shower curtain rod curved out in the middle so you weren't constantly hitting the curtain while taking a shower. The staff was always helpful with any questions we had.

What I would have preferred: one large bathroom so the sink area was not in the viewing area of those seated in the sitting area, where any guests could watch me brush my teeth, etc. Plus the door to the shower area was too close to the toilet making entrance into the bathroom a bit difficult. A microwave would have been nice to have.

I gave the service a lower rating because when we checked in there was an old towel hanging on the back of the bathroom door. The next night we had to ask for a second towel, even though we had both of our used towels hanging up as part of the green program. They took both of our towels and gave us only one fresh towel. But once I called the staff delivered a fresh towel immediately. Also, we never received fresh drinking glasses after the first night. We stayed Fri-Mon. We finally went down to the buffet area to get our own glasses. These complaints are really only minor displeasures, except for the bathroom layout. The whole stay was great overall.

This Hyatt Place is a clean hotel to stay at. The hotel is within a quick 3 mile drive to downtown Raleigh and also close to highways for other destinations. There is a movie theater and shopping center within 3 miles as well. Staff was friendly and stay went smooth. They also serve continental breakfast and have free apples in the lobby (Grab one!)

The TV's in these rooms are huge and are great for ordering movies as well!

As someone who has traveled extensively for work and play, and it is rare that I make the following statement: I loved this hotel.
First, the room was clean, comfortable, and well designed. There’s a nice living room area with plenty of room to relax. You get a nice desk as well, as well as mini-fridge and sink. The bathroom features a roomy outside sink area (always a plus to have the sink separate from the toilet and shower when you have to share), and the shower had plenty of power. And the bed – incredibly comfortable. Perhaps most refreshing of all, the room was equipped with a swiveling HDTV that you share between the living area and the sleeping area. Yes, HDTV. Welcome to the 21st century. It’s a hotel room where you could stay for a week and not begin to climb the walls.
Downstairs, the modern lobby doubles as a seating area for the free breakfast, which offers a pretty decent selection. You can also buy a limited selection of Starbucks products and other snacks while you’re down there. A small business center lets you check e-mail if you didn’t bring your laptop, but you also have free Wi-Fi in your room. The fitness center has a small assortment of treadmills and elliptical, which is more than adequate.
Location is great, very convenient to the “Beltway,” an interstate (I-440) that gets you to various destinations in the Raleigh area. You are within walking distance to a couple of restaurants or a short drive to plenty of shopping and restaurant choices. This is not the nearest Hyatt to the RDU Airport, but it’s not a bad drive. Nice, friendly hotel staff, too – they were able to direct us to some great spots for a quick bite.
Yes, the oversized bathroom door is a bit goofy, the shower could use a bit more light, and the AC is right next to the bed, but that’s really trivial criticism. Our two nights at Hyatt Place in September 2008 were wonderful, and I look forward to the next time travel takes me to one of their properties.

  • Liked — A very comfortable bed and HDTV in the room.
  • Disliked — The bathroom door was oversized, which made it a bit difficult to manuever while opening.

We stayed at the hotel for two nights while house-hunting in Raleigh. I booked the hotel originally because I saw what a great rating it got on TripAdvisor, and the great price.

It was a wonderful experience. The hotel was beautifully decorated, they had an awesome breakfast with Starbucks coffee, and beautiful rooms. There was even a large flat-screen TV in the room. You can't beat the value of this hotel, and it's located in the middle of North Raleigh.

Needed a hotel in Raleigh after going to an NC State football game. This Hyatt Place is just off the Beltline about 9 miles from Carter-Findley Stadium. Very easy to get to. Staff was pleasant and helpful. The hotel is chic, clean, up to date with wi-fi and such. I was only there 1 night, and I did not see their fitness center or business center, but the rate I found online was the rate they charged me (which is not always the case!) and the complimentary breakfast was just fine. There's a Denny's right next door if you want more. The air conditioning worked just fine, but the unit was pretty loud. I tried turning it off for some peace and quiet, but the room got too stuffy without the air circulating. So I just slept with the noise. It was not a noise like the unit was broken, I think it is just loud. I would certainly go back, though.

  • Liked — Hotel and room looked fresh, stylish, clean, welcoming and the rate was excellent.
  • Disliked — Noisy air conditioner.

We stayed at the Hyatt for 2 nights while we were in NC seeing Kenny Chesney! The hotel was about 10 mins away from the Time Warner Cable Music Pavillion which is where our concert was. Minutes away from all kinds of restaurants, stores and highways. The hotel is very modern and clean. The staff was very nice. They offered a complimentary continental breakfast in the morning until 10 a.m. The beds were very comfortable. This hotel was a great place stay for an even better price. I would definately stay there again if we were ever in the area.
