“Awesome diner for all! ”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 2, 2014 via mobile

We dropped by Digger's Diner on our way back from norfolk. We are both fans of monster jam, and decided to stop for photos, and ended up eating too!!We really enjoyed the diner... It was probably better than Steak and Shake. The small diner had some great waitresses and all kinds of Grave Digger memorabilia. The food is cooked right in front of you, and everything is fresh. It was a refreshing change of pace from the east coast seafood restaurants. Kids will love it, as well as adults.

“Very good lunch, good place for kids”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 22, 2014

We stopped by for a sunday lunch, after leaving OBX. We pass by this place about 2x/year, and Digger keeps adding attractions. But regarding the diner, the interior is small and we were lucky to have been able to be seated at the bar. There is also outside seating and, but make sure you ask for all that you need, as there is nothing at the tables. But or server was attentive, food was really good. Although we did not need chicken nuggets, I heard them tell others they were out. I know that can be a setback for some kids. They should have not let that happen.
The diner is clean, including the restrooms. Everybody was friendly. This makes a nice stop either going to, or coming back from your vacation.

“Bury your hunger at Diggers Diner!”

Perfect pitstop on your way to the Outer Banks. Fast and friendly service, really good breakfast. Bacon. It is a small place but ideal for a quick homecooked breakfast. Takeout available.

“Nothin' fancy, just good old down home cookin.'”

Even if you don't get too excited about monster trucks, this place is The Bomb!! I rate it "very good" only because I'm frugal with my "excellent" ratings, so believe me when I say I'd go back in a heartbeat. The servers and staff are just as warm and friendly as I've met anywhere, and the breakfast servings were plentiful and well-prepared. Next time we're in the neighborhood at lunchtime, we'll sample the menu and know it'll be just as good as our breakfasts. Right beside the classic silver diner building is a small animal farm that's just wonderful for the young 'uns. Us old timers loved it, too. The animals are very well cared for and it's great to watch them being fed by the restaurant cook. Those of you who enjoy the monster truck stuff can stroll right over there and have a great time, too. The folks who run this are to be commended for their efforts to bring a successful venture to this wide spot in the road on the way to and from the Outer Banks. Be proud Digger!

“If you love bacon .....”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 1, 2014

which I don't ...but I'm a minority! In my opinion the food is really good! It's a very small diner- and because of it's proximity to the Grave Digger Shop...you can just about count on running into a Monster Truck Driver or crew when you stop in at lunch! The burgers are really good, and so is the Philly Cheese Steak! Milkshakes YUM! and atmosphere- tight and nostalgic! To sum it up- it's worth stopping here- if you have to stretch your legs you simply wont find a better place. There's a menagerie of animals for the kids to look at, Monster Trucks are peppered around and the Dungeon is close by where you can pick up official Monster Truck gear. You'd be silly not to stop- it's a good time and great food.
