“Most relaxing place ever!”
Reviewed April 25, 2014

My long weekend at Fearrington was the perfect place to relax and unwind! Upon check in, I was upgraded to a 1 bedroom suite, more like a luxury apartment, complete with a entrance patio, front door, separate living and bedroom, large walk-in closet and spacious bath with heated towel bars and heated floor! The staff was top notch and service oriented.
Fearrington village has a cute restaurant with a good selection of sandwiches, salads, wine and ice cream. On the weekend, there was live music and a pizza cooker outside.
Strolling the walkways and to see the belted cows in the mornings was truly a highlight! The cows are beloved by the locals, there were several babies just a few weeks old.
Tea at the Fearrington House restaurant was a delicious experience and the perfect way to unwind after arriving. The included breakfast was plentiful and skillfully prepared. Service was excellent.
If you are looking for a luxurious place in the country to get away from it all, Fearrington is for you! It would be perfect for couples, or traveling alone like I did. I felt very safe, cared for and pampered. Loved it!

Room Tip: The 1 bedroom suite was incredible, very private, quite luxurious!

On March 16 my wife and I got snowed in for an extra day at a lovely resort on the Chesapeake Bay by seven inches of snow from and unexpected late winter storm. That forced the cancellation of our hotel reservation in Durham and all the nice hotels and resorts we checked in the Durham area were booked solid (perhaps due to the March Madness basketball tourneys). So we decided to stay at the Fearrington House Inn where we had stayed a long time ago and loved it.

We ended up with a suite, room number one, that had a separate sitting area with a comfortable sofa, two stuffed chairs, desk, and TV. The bedroom was large and comfy with a gas fireplace. The bath area was large with a separate closed off area for the tub, shower, and commode. There was a large area with a wash basin and a separate sitting area for makeup.

Although the rooms are pricey they do include a free gourmet breakfast, server gratuity not included

We loved the room but the heating system seemed defective on a cold, near freezing day. The sitting area had a thermostat set at 72 and was comfortable but the bath area was too hot at 78. It looked like there was a separate thermostat for the bath but neither us nor the staff person we consulted could change the setting. Closing the door to the shower and tub area helped a little. The temperature in the bath area might have been made worse by the fact that the towel warmer had been left on.

Nevertheless, we love this inn and the associated charming shops and plan to come back soon, especially when the highly acclaimed restaurant is open--it is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays and our bad luck was that we were there on a Tuesday. We will also check out the heating and cooling system before deciding on a room.

The Fearrington Inn is simply the best place to relax, eat fantastic food and enjoy the surroundings. The staff throughout the property are excellent, very personable, very helpful and simply want to ensure that everything you need is available and nothing is to much trouble - even providing lettuce to feed the adorable goats.

Highly recommend.

My wife and I were married at Fearrington over seven years ago. Despite our travels brining us back to the area, we had not stayed there again. Given that we were married there (a perfectly memorable event) our expectations were high--but they were met. If your travels take you to the area, or even if they don't stay at Fearrington.

As some of the comments reflect, its placement in the middle of a parking lot isn't great. Nor are the rooms (in my opinion) not in the main building--though some of them are huge and great. That said, a visitor to Fearrington is one that should expect great service, and a great stay.

We traveled to the area on Christmas day. While the restaurant (it's excellent) was closed--we had been informed with a phone call in advance, the hotel had created a buffet for those staying over Christmas. It was a nice touch and allowed us a bite to eat before bed.

While some might find the room rates on the high-end the inclusion of breakfast (delicious and made to order) and tea really make the difference. The breakfast was a great way to start the day and the tea was a nice relaxing interlude late in the afternoon.

The setting on a farm is completely idyllic with ample areas to walk and relax. The rooms are extraordinarily well-appointed, and again, the service is tops.

If you want an overnight with great food, a quiet weekend to relax and refresh, this is the place.

We will be back.

The ability to make a guest feel welcome is an art only some hosts practice.
If you are willing to pay the price and simply understand comfort this Inn provides a beautiful and simple approach to your accommodation.
For those who say one can't find things as they should be, they should try a stay at Fearrington

A country Inn within a settlement containing a few shops and one restaurant other than the one connected to the Inn. Surrounded by a small farm and contains wonderful gardens, meeting rooms, and other speciality buildings. The fee includes your room/suite as well as afternoon tea and breakfast. An excellent restaurant is also on the grounds and is available for an additional cost. A very special get-sway. The only complaint was our suite had a fairly small bath.

My boyfriend and I traveled for our 6th anniversary, and The Fearrington House was a great choice. Check-in felt a little stiff. i would have preferred more of a greeting or maybe a smile. Our room was decent sized but had a great view of one of their gardens and we actually witnessed a wedding on the lawn that afternoon. The bed was incredibly comfortable. the bathroom was nice; we had a standup shower. There are I think three different restaurants all under their head chef, Chef Bedford which is amazing for the amount of events and numbers they turn in all three places. He's great. The food that evening was unbelievable. Our server was very pleasant. We could read through her facade; it didn't feel as genuine, however one of their dining room managers (he had an accent) now he was great! His wit and humor helped keep things going smoothly between meals. The next morning we were a little under the weather having battled sinus infections for days before, so we weren't able to join for breakfast. We did still enjoy the fresh breads and room service was very prompt. They've recently been awarded the five star and currently working at another five star relais & chateaux I was not disappointed at all. I strongly encourage and recommend everyone to stay or dine if they're in the Pittsboro area.
