Grand cuisine/chef gastronomical experience!! The whole concept is unique; farm, boutiques, gardens, outdoor music w wine/delicatesses and romantic hideaway. The restaurant is a beautiful unique private romantic site w very special personal attention to details by staff . This one should be on anyone's bucket list.

We recently had the opportunity to spend a weekend night at the Inn, along with a great dinner at the restaurant.

The staff as expected was friendly, professional and helpful without being clingy. Check in was quick and efficient, one of the staff showed us to our room facing one of the courtyards. They quickly briefed us on the room amenities and left us to ourselves.

The suite was spotless and very well decorated in style reminiscent of a European country Inn. Two flat screen TVs insured viewing from either the sitting room or bedroom without being obtrusive. There was an iHome unit to plug in your iPhone/iPod. A lovely fruit tray and chocolates awaited us in the sitting room.

Our bedroom looked onto one of the numerous gardens on the grounds and there was a wedding in progress as we arrived. There are paths and gardens everywhere you turn in the village, there is literally a surprise around every turn as you wander the village.

After dinner we returned to find the bed turned down and an assortment of chocolate truffles.

The bed was marvelous, the bath accessories sublime, I wish we could just live here.

I heard they are in the process of updating the rooms, I know we were in one of the older ones and it suited us just fine.

I shouldn't forget the cows, the village hosts a herd of belted Galloways, and ancient euro breed best distinguished by the white band around their middle, accenting their black fur, front and rear. The locals call them Belties, the kids call them Oreo cows.

I wish we had the time to visit the Roost, the outdoor biergarten and the spa.

The local area is very rural, it's easy to forget your only a few miles from Chapel Hill.

This is a great place to go and turn off your cell phone and forget all the worries of city life.

Room Tip: The rooms around the registration cottage were a good pick for us, less walking, and no stairs.

We stayed at the Inn for a Thomas Keller dinner and thoroughly enjoyed a brief overnight visit at the inn. Our room was very spacious with a nice bathroom and looked out over the central quad. The entire area was well kept up and close for a short stroll. I would go back again. The inn is outside of Chapel Hill, which is outside of Raleigh, so if you need to be close to the center of things, this isn't the place.
We attended a dinner with Thomas Keller pushing his new book on desserts. Since TK wasn't in the kitchen but schmoozing with the guests, the meal was OK but not great. So a review of the event won't be forthcoming.

A little slice of heaven. We only stayed one night but it felt like we were a world away. So worth it! We ate at all three eateries, shopped in the stores, walked in the park and enjoyed the spa. Everything was perfect! The staff was wonderful and attentive and I can't wait to go back again.

I recently stayed at this charming little inn for a business trip, but if I had it to do over, I would have planned to stay an extra day or 2 as I fell in love with this hotel. The room was clean and lovely- and had all of the amenities of a luxury resort. the shops were very cute and the breakfast in the restaurant was fantastic. The grounds were just beautiful- but especially lovely at night with the twinkle lights hanging from the trees. I can see returning for an anniversary weekend or a special get-away. My only improvement would be to have coffee in the guestrooms- I like my first cup BEFORE I get dressed in the morning. Other than that, I had a perfect stay.
