First we were really glad Carolina Brewery was open as our first choice restaurant was not. When we pulled up to the parking lot we could see people sitting out on the patio since it was a beautiful day - blue skies, temperature in the high 70s. The place was busy inside and out and we elected to sit outside. The wait staff gave us a buzzer which buzzed in about 15 minutes after which we were seated. My friend ordered the local beef hamburger from Lily Dean Farms and a glass of Blanc Freixenet. I ordered the veggie burger with sweet potato fries and Sky Blue Golden Ale. While my veggie burger and sweet potato fries were good, they were not as good as the black bean buger and salted and sugared sweet potato fries I had eaten at the Carolina Brewery a few years ago. The burger was a too soft with no crisp to it and the kitchen seemed to have left off the intricate blend of salt and sugar on the fries.
The ambiance was great in spite of a family of three people and three dogs at the next table. OK, the dogs drank their water from bowls on the floor and after an initial spate of yapping, they settled down.
Service was patient, quick and friendly. I plan to go back again soon. You should too.
