The quaint setting, shops and gardens are the attraction here. The original farmhouse makes a cozy, somewhat formal restaurant setting. The chef is able to use some ingredients from the kitchen garden and local farmers. Guest rooms are top notch, and thus the location is popular for weddings and anniversaries.

Everything!!! This was our second visit and just like the first..everything was superb. A professional welcoming staff, attentive service, an extremely creative menu presented artistically. Every dish reflected this chef's creativity and training. It's one of those places that strives to please with every course including the complimentary canapes, the amuse bouche, and each and every offering on their four course menu. Unlike a previous reviewer, we enjoyed being informed by our servers about the contents of each course..large and small. My wife has long wished all restaurants would do this, or at least leave the menu at the table..so you'll remember exactly what was plated at each stage. When the sommelier served the wine by-the-glass I ordered, I asked to see the label a second time so I could remember the name..and maybe search for it at our local wine store. She returned a few moments later with the names of both wines we ordered, stylishly calligraphed on a card. The kind of touch we've learned to love at this restaurant. This is top notch fare folks...expensive but worth it...especially for a special occasion.

This is a very elegant restaurant with very high aspirations. The food was artistically presented and very creative. A nice touch was to have various palate cleansers and extras before during and after the meal. Service is excellent, highly attentive and unpretentious. But as every course is presented the server "announces" the ingredients and preparation of each dish. This was distracting and unbecoming for a high-level restaurant. It reached a Monty Pythonesque level when a teeny palate cleanser was served and a recitation was delivered of 8 or so ingredients and their preparation. This is a very expensive restaurant, especially for the Triangle area.

We arrived at the Granary, the more casual of the two restaurants at Fearrington Village, right on time and even though the restaurant was filling with customers, we were seated promptly. The hostess graciously took our wet raincoats. The chef send out an absolutely dreamy amuse bouche that consisted of a perfectly carmelized scallop with a mushroom reduction sauce. It was really delicious and i could easily have made that my entire entree. The rest of the meal sailed along with attentive service and delicious food. i would recommend this gem to anyone.
