This is by far the best restaurant in Pittsboro, if you are looking for a full service dining experience. Located in a former tag manufacturing building, the Oakleaf offers a number of appetizers, entrees and desserts. These change over time, so checking the website is recommended. Much of the food is local or at least from the region, and much is organically raised. It's all delicious. There is an extensive wine list. Mondays offer a bread on wine prices. That said, be prepared to spend a hundred dollars plus for a a full meal with wine for two.

We try to dine as often as possible at Oakleaf as it is such a breath of fresh air in Pittsboro. The food is amazing, especially the duck confit, which rivals anything we had in Paris. I always order it because it is so absolutely delicious and not something I make at home. The bread is also very good, but that means you eat way too much of it. Everything we have tried here has been good. The chef really knows what he is doing back there. The only complaint is that they need to work on their wine list, but don't let that keep you from going. It is worth a trip from almost anywhere.

Oakleaf is a treasure in small town NC! Pittsboro is so lucky to have this great restaurant in it's historic little town. This is the type or eatery you would expect to find in Chapel Hill or Durham. We have had many wonderful meals at the Oakleaf. We stop by for an appetizer and drink at the bar often. We have celebrated my husband's 50th birthday with family and friends here as well. Whatever the occasion, the staff makes the occasion perfect. Of course the food is unbelievable! The lemon buttermilk pudding is the best dessert I have had at any restaurant. The chef knows how to make a unique and flavorful piece of fish with any fish that is in season.

Best hamburger I've ever had anywhere on this planet! And the desserts as well. Others at our table also raved about their choices.

Had business in Pittsboro and just randomly selected this place for lunch. Amazing repurposed venue, professional wait staff and succulent food. The creative Mill Worker's lunch let's you pick 2 items from a diverse list of choices for $15. It is very flexible - you can get wine and an entree, salad and entree, appetizer and dessert, etc.. The chicken orecchiette and cheese gnocchi with mushroom were superb. We will certainly drive the 30 miles to get there and bring friends too.
