We visited Diana's Tex-Mex in Pittsboro with a Restaurant.com gift certificate for 25$ off a 35$ bill. We ordered queso dip to start, and ordered fajitas for two with a fish platter as entrees, planning on taking away a good amount.
We waited most of half an hour for our meal, and when our waitress refilled our drinks I mentioned our gift certificate to her. She said that they do not accept those any longer, and explained at length that they don't make any money off of those and stopped taking them a while ago. She said that she had put up a sign "a while ago" and gestured vaguely at the door, where no such sign currently existed. She did offer to comp one of our meals to make amends, but a free seven dollar fish does not equate to a 25$ value. Additionally, the decor is straight "cafeteria," and the ambience is lacking. The sound of the air conditioner didn't lend much to the dining experience. We weren't expecting too much from a plain brick building labeled "MEXICAN FOOD," but after waiting a half hour for our food, and being told that our coupon was not accepted, we left cash for the dip and walked out.
The problem with the coupon could be attributed to Restaurant.com. She said she had contacted the website to let them know she would not honor the coupons, and they should have told us if that was the case. However, coupon issue notwithstanding, we were disappointed with the atmosphere and long wait. We were literally the only people in the restaurant, two hours before they closed. We drove through McDonald's on the way home.
