“No hiking needed”
Reviewed December 27, 2013

This waterfall is right on the road in Pisgah National Forest in Brevard County, North Carolina. A short walk down a flight of stairs brings you to a viewing platform for the falls. In the winter, the viewing platform can be quite icy from the spray from the falls, but in the summer, you can walk off of the platform and over the rocks to get closer to the falls for taking photographs.

“Make sure to at least stop and enjoy the view!”
Reviewed December 3, 2013

Just take time to take this in on your way up or down the BR Parkway. It is a beautiful spot, even (especially?) in November!

“Family Adventure to Looking Glass Falls”
Reviewed November 11, 2013 via mobile

On our way to Bryson City we decided to take a quick stop to Pisgah Forest. While driving through the forest you cannot help but to pull over and watch the amazing view of Looking Glass Falls. You can basically park right I'm front of the falls. That means you do not have to hike. And.... You can get really close to the falls. My group and I felt compelled to climb the rocks and get as close as possible to the falls. Hearing themade us feel so relaxed. We will definitely come back.

“Nice waterfall! Close by parking..”
Reviewed October 22, 2013 via mobile

Very nice waterfall! Visible from the road and plenty of parking close by. There is a viewing area from the top of the falls or you can walk down a bunch of stairs for a closer view. Just remember to be mindful of other tourists. My honey likes to dabble in photography and he was unable to get a clear shot with so many people around.

“Nice Waterfall close to road!”
Reviewed October 14, 2013

The waterfall is very nice. It is very close to the road and there is generally ample parking. The parking is a single lane along the Hwy 276 heading north before you reach the falls. You may have to walk a quarter mile (estimate) if the place is busy during high season (summer and fall). In the winter you can generally park right next to the falls. They allow wading at the bottom of the falls and the water is cold. The top of the falls is a dangerous place and every couple years someone takes a tragic fall. Many places to picnic within 10 miles. Take your camera. This waterfall would be for couples, families with young children or teens, or just if you are with friends or solo.
