I love driving through this forest. When you enter from the Brevard side, you quickly hit Looking Glass Falls and Sliding Rock, both very big attractions in the forest. There are picnic areas, great hiking trails, swimming areas, beautiful trees, streams, waterfalls, birds, and everthing you could hope for in a national forest. What more can I say? Other than I love it!

“Abundant beauty”
Reviewed June 11, 2010

We recently visited the Pisgah National Forest and the Cradle of Forestry in Pisgah Forest, North Carolina. If you love waterfalls, hiking and breathtaking views of the Blue Ridge Mountains, this is for you. There is even a natural waterslide within the park. Make sure to allow several days to explore this beautiful area.

“Sliding Rock in Pisgah National Forest--well worth the detour!”
Reviewed August 4, 2009

Sliding Rock in the Pisgah National Forest is the perfect natural water slide with a freezing cold pool at the bottom. We drove out of our way just to visit this again. This was my third time through here in the past 30 years and it has changed a lot. They now have lifeguards, a changing station and an admission fee (only $1.00/person though, so well worth it). You can get in line and go down as often as you wish. Also stopped at the nearby Looking Glass Falls which was beautiful.

“Lovely area in the mountains”
Reviewed August 14, 2007

I spent 2 interesting days touring the park and all the different sights available. I was a senior alone and felt very comfortable everywhere I went - even alone on the trails. I recomend this trip to any one. Kids would learn, and enjoy the ranger station and the trout farm as well as the famous sliding rock falls.
