This is a new recreation park. Trails are wide enough to handle lots of traffic. One or two trails allow wheelchairs to get to waterfalls. Highly recommended!

On our last day of vacation we took the time to follow family to Looking Glass Falls and Sliding Rock Falls. We captured awesome pictures! This was very enjoyable and time well spent. Along side of the road and very easy walking.

We have visited here over the past 10 yrs in the late summer to our timeshare in the mountains. This is a hiker's heaven. Lineville Falls is an absolute wonderful hike, very beautiful, Lineville Caves is very educational and interesting for Cave lovers and kids. So many trails for all levels of hikers. The mountains here are the most beautiful I have ever seen. Mt Mitchell is an absolute MUST! If you have young kids Emerald City Mining is fun. If Rafting is your thing… don't miss a rafting trip down the French Broad River, one of the oldest rivers in the world! Many people go tubing down the rivers but my teens thought this was a little too lame for them. If you visit in late July and love jewelry, check out the North Carolina Gem and Mineral Show. Of course don't miss the Biltmore in Ashville. Shopping is interesting in Ashville, my daughter says it is like a mini New Orleans minus the Voo Doo Shops :). On the Blue Ridge Parkway stop at the Folk Arts Center, there are craftsman demonstrating their talents and wonderful crafts for display and sale there. We saw a very educational presentation on bamboo rod making. The Highland Games on Grandfather Mountain is also a very educational and entertaining event for the whole family. If you love golfing, play at the Mt Mitchell Golf Course, very challenging and fun course. Tweetsy Railroad and Ghost Town in the Sky are great attractions for smaller children. Also, if you are a fly fisherman, you MUST come here! The mountain streams are filled with trout and you can literally disappear into the streams for days if that is your thing. If not, stop by one of the farms here and let your kids throw their lines in for a guaranteed catch! If you love crafts, visit Penland Crafts. It is a great and educational visit.

This is another great place to ride.
Lots of nice sweeping curves and not a lot of traffic on weekdays.

You don't have to be an outdoors adventurer to appreciate and enjoy this natural treasure! Looking glass falls and the sliding rock are must see (and do!) events!
