We had a fantastic meal at Elliot's. Our waitress, who was also the manager, could not have been any more pleasant or helpful in explaining the menu. The scallop appetizer was bursting with flavor and could have been a meal by itself. The bread was incredible. I had the lamb loin entree which was perfectly cooked and very flavorful. We picked one wine and then our waiter picked an excellent French wine that paired nicely with our meal. The waffle desert was a nice item to share around the table at the end.

Ate here in early May 2013 and had a memorable meal of mostly seafood small plates. We especially liked the duck wontons. The menu includes the local sources of all the ingredients and almost all ingredients are grown within 100 miles of Pinehurst. It's tough to find but worth the trip. Elliott's is a stylish restaurant with a varied menu.

Elliott's provided our worst dining experience in recent memory. Our waitress seemed to lack proper training and added no value to our dining experience. I believe a large part of the problem lies with the back-of-the-house/training department and they should be ashamed for allowing unknowledgeable staff to represent a (mistakenly) decent reputation for a farm-to-market, fine dining experience.

Summary of our dinner:

- Server took 10 minutes to get to our table after we had been seated and never introduced herself.
- Two of the entrees we were interested in were unavailable.
- The bartender was unable to figure out which beer I ordered until I described the packaging.
- Entrees arrived at the table 45 min after placing order. We sat down at 7pm and received our food at 8:05pm.
- The A/C kicked on numerous times and froze out those dining in the restaurant.

The food was very fresh but some dishes lacked flavor and uniqueness; and, for what you expect somewhere like this to deliver, it was over priced.

Ordered: Soup of the Day (Ok), Potato Gnocchi appetizer (good), Cowboy Skillet (better)

My husband and I visited on Saturday, 4/20/13, in time to enjoy the new spring lunch menu. We both had the Cobb salad. It was wonderful. It had a grilled crouton under a marvelously dressed salad with a tender grilled chicken breast. Eli was our server. He was knowledgeable, friendly and courteous without being overbearing. The attached bar was small but cozy and reminded me of an Irish snug. They have a great selection of beers. As you leave, check out the Provision Company next door for kitchen supplies, housewares, baked goods, fresh meat and locally produced gourmet treats. We'll be back again, with friends.
