“The perfect way to experience Pinehurst”
Reviewed December 12, 2011

My husband had a golf tournament to play in in Pinehurst, and we decided to stay at this wonderful Bed and Breakfast for a night to make a weekend getaway out of the trip. The Magnolia was WONDERFUL. We were greeted at the door by first name and shown up to our room. The room was wonderful, not huge, but big enough with a VERY comfortable king size bed, very well decorated, flat screen tv, nice bathroom (not huge, but big enough considering the age of the house). The character of the historic home, which has been so wonderfully restored and decorated shines through everywhere. The first floor has a wonderful restaurant as well as a small pub. In the afternoon we walked around the Pinehurst area (which the inn is located right in the middle of) with its cute shops and restaurants. The inn is walking distance to both the golf courses and the Carolina. We had a drink at the pub, which has a very lively and fun bartender, and then ate dinner at the restaurant. The dinner was one of the best I have had in awhile. The NY strip steak was amazing and the grilled salmon my husband ordered was great too. I also highly recommend the cheesecake for dessert! The atmosphere of being in a historic home really made the night wonderful and so special compared to any other generic hotel stay. It was so great to be able to just walk upstairs at the end of the evening as if we were in our own home. We were served a big plate of scrambled eggs, toast, sausage, tomato slice, and 2 slices of cheese for breakfast. I definitely plan on staying at the Bed and Breakfast every time I come to Pinehurst!

There are only three streets, each a block long, in the Historic Village of Pinehurst and The Magnolia Inn is on the corner of the road leading to the famous Carolina Resort Hotel. In addition to offering overnight accomodations it has a quaint dining room and cozy little bar where us locals go. There are only 4 tables in the two room bar and about as many stools at the bar, however, outdoor dining is plentiful under bright red umbrellas over each table.
