This was our second visit to the hotel. The first visit, no problems. This time, a few. The hotel is in a great location, clean, on the river, walkable to everything in town, innkeeper lives on site. Downside of all this is that the hotel isn't a good place to stay if you are bothered by perfume smells or have asthma. As soon as you enter the rooms, there is a strong perfume smell that hits you. We discovered it was one of those plug in air fresheners. The smell was so strong you could taste it. Even the office had the smell, so it seems they may use this in all the rooms. We unplugged it immediately and out it outside the door as it was that strong even unplugged. The smell induced my asthma so I couldn't sleep that night, plus the air in the room just did not circulate. Even my husband was uncomfortable and hot all night. It was a rough night. We hope that since the freshener was unplugged, by the time we returned later in the day, the room would be bearable. We returned, there was no change in smell, we packed up and left as I couldn't breathe. Just a warning to people with breathing problems.
