About 2 miles from the village. Get there by car or bicycle. Its got all the essentials (showers, rest and changing rooms, drinking fountain) and miles and miles of sand. It has to be one of the top rated beaches in the US.

The beach was really windy when we were there. That was the only downside. Otherwise it is really nice. You can't find a lot of undeveloped beaches like this. I liked that there were lifeguards with the kids, they even advised us at one point that there might be lightening coming which was really nice. It wasn't that crowded despite being mid-summer. Overall we spend several very nice beach days here.

Water was clear, lots of whole/unbroken shells to pick. Although there were moderate crowds near the lifeguard stand, 50 yards up the beach there was plenty of unoccupied sand. Just as pretty as a picture.

come to surf, shell collect, just laze in the sun, or walk the beach for hours on end. Beaches are endless along the road. Enjoy!

Absolutely gorgeous and well maintained beach on Ocracoke. It was clean, the water was clear, and there were certain areas if you walk down just a ways that were secluded. The warm water made it possible to get in and have a little fun. I wish it hadn't rained so much while we were there because I would have loved to enjoy the beach more.
