Food is ok, just sandwiches and bar food. Fun place though. Nice to be on the water at the marina. Service was good, nice and quick food delivery.

We had a fun experience here a few years ago due to the music and view, and we recalled that the food was OK but nothing great. This time the food was less than OK. Not exactly awful, but just not very good. We ordered clam chowder but the waiter brought us taco soup and apologized because they were out of the clam chowder. He never asked if it was OK, and the taco soup was watery and bland. We were appalled when we were charged $6/bowl for the awful stuff, which we would have declined had it been offered. The tacos my husband had were really yukky looking and were limp and bland. I had the fish tacos, which were better than the tacos but nothing spectacular. Well, at least we really enjoyed the view. We won't be back, though.

The staff was great and the food great. Our waitress was very helpful with my wife's special diet. The scenery is great, right next to the water.

We have eaten here on past visits to Ocracoke, and found the food to be quite tasty, nicely prepared, with an attentive but not obtrusive waitstaff. As others have noted, the view of the harbor is worth the visit, especially near sunset. There is no indoor dining. Dining is on a patio overhanging the water. They have added a smaller dining area at the end of the dock that extends perhaps fifty feet or so into the harbor, and there is another covered patio under construction next to the existing facility. All this outdoor dining makes for a pleasant meal.

One of our favorite menu items has been the broiled bluefish, with cole slaw and hushpuppies.

On this visit, the bluefish was fried, not broiled - though it was in fact bluefish, easily identified by the skin, and not some frozen filet posing as bluefish. It was seasoned well, with a light breading. The hushpuppies here have always been excellent, and this visit was no exception.

Waitstaff was excellent, and provided quick service as usual. Despite what other reviewers have noted about poor service, that has never been our experience here.

And the view, even though mid-afternoon, was quite picturesque. We shot photos of some pelicans gliding about overhead, as well as hanging around on the nearby pilings.

What we did not like was the price. Their pricing has gone through the roof, especially considering that it's basically basket food - served in a red plastic basket with plastic utensils. There's nothing wrong with that, especially given the informal atmosphere, but the cost is way out of sync with surroundings and presentation.

So, sadly, we're crossing Jolly Roger off our list of places to visit in Ocracoke. It has nothing to do with the service or the eats; they've just lost their minds a bit over their prices.
