Worth seeing. Free. Can't go up to or into lighthouse, but close enough to take great pictures. Nice place to visit.

Not a bad light house, but we were expecting more after seeing all the other light houses in the area.

Not a very pretty and ornate lighthouse and somewhat small however it was explained to us at the visitor center that it was a lighthouse only to enter the harbor of Ocracoke as opposed to ocean lighthouses for the Atlantic Ocean ships. We took some great photos as there is a white picket fence next to the walk to the lighthouse and with the fence, it's shadow and the lighthouse it was a picture I blew up.

We waited 1 1/2 hours in line for the ferry in the hot sun. The ferry ride took 45 minutes. The drive to the village is another 20 miles followed by a disappointing lighthouse. It is the oldest operating lighthouse and the smallest on the east coast, I believe. There are only about 5 parking spaces and they are limited to 15 minutes; however that is about 3 times longer than necessary to visit this attraction. You can't go inside and truly, if you've seen a picture, that's about all there is to see. Then to go home we had to again drive, wait in line (only 1/2 hour this time), and ride the ferry again. We would have rather spent our time going to some of the museums in Hattaras. I felt really sorry for the people in lthe ferry line with a car full of young children. The village itself is close and difficult to navigate in a car. Not a revisit for us!

Lighthouse is pretty and photogenic, but you cannot tour it. There is only a small marker to read, otherwise it is just a photo opportunity.
