First timer at the Sugar Shack after missing opportunities over the years to make reservations. This time around we reserved the weekend of our arrival for that upcoming Tuesday night. We arrived on time and it took about 20 minutes after that to get seated. After enjoying a couple drinks at the outside bar with the family, the time passed quickly and we were seated.
George was a our waiter and he had a big personality and made us feel welcomed. We were a table of nine which included three children under 10. George kept the drinks flowing and made good recommendations for appetizers and entree's. We opted for the coconut shrimp and crab fritters which was a good starter. Also, they bring your two types of cake bread to start out the meal which we all enjoyed. For the entree, we all ordered either the ribeye, the rib and shrimp combo or the full rack of ribs. Ribs and ribeye are the house recommendations and I can say it met every expectation as did the rest of our food. Ribs truly do fall right off the bone and are excellent.
Overall, we had a great experience with no complaints and I would certainly return as well as recommend.
Tips that may assist with your experience are as follows:
The outside bar prefers credit card versus cash.
They also offer a bottles of wine from a local winery which was enjoyed(silver coast winery, I believe).
Reservations are absolutely recommended
I absolutely believe, complaining about wait time is frowned upon. The owner is in control of the seating and its her show to run.
Parking can be limited as well, so keep that in mind when planning your arrival times.
Large parties seem to be easily accomodated.
There is a gift shop.
